the Bubbling Mud Pits
various places between Jennings and Taylor.
Before the current central plant, Jennings and Taylor got their hot
water from a plant next to where the statue is today.
The water pipes were old and often leaked. In the 1994-1995 academic
year, they would often spring leaks. Hot water would seep (or gush)
from the pipes forming geysers and hot springs. Students joked that
we had our own Yellowstone
National Park.
Unfortunately, the hot water would also vanish if a big leak occurred.
