the UC TV Room

The UC TV Room was located where the BSM office is today.

When the UC was originally built in 1993, that area was open and was furnished with couches and a big screen TV. Students would get together to watch their favorite shows there. Sometimes, a student would bring a VCR to watch a movie. The TV room also served as overflow seating for the Stinger Snack Shop and the Subway that was to later occupy the Snack Shop's location.

Sometimes, other events would be held there. In spring 1995, a caricature artist was there (as one of the student activities). Around the same time, a "make-your-own music video" business was hosted there for one day. People would hold meetings, play games, study, and do all other sorts of activities in the TV room.

When the second floor of the UC was remodeled in 1997-1998 academic year, the big screen TV was moved into Fambrough's Grill (the former Carl Fambrough Game Room) and the TV room was converted into the BSM offices. The couches were moved into a corner of Fambrough's.
