The Society to Topple the Statue is a nonviolent protest organization dedicated to
peacefully and diplomatically destroying the idol.

The STTTS is not anti-HPU! It merely seeks to redress a wrong commited by a previous administration.
STTTS is an open organization, open to any who oppose the idol, Bubba, and seek its removal.

Without consulting any (but a mere token force of toadys) of the student body, a certain individual
no longer in power erected an idol upon what was once a parking lot.

Regardless of what history may or may not record, a significant portion of the student and alumni bodies opposed the construction of the statue.

Reasons cited included the following:

1.) the statue's
appearance
2.) the statue's location
3.) the fact that the money could have better spent improving other parts of the campus
4.) a combination of these and other factors

These people attempted to voice their concerns.
Their concerns were ignored.

Why we believe that Bubba is an idol.

On several occasions, acts of protest have been committed against the statue.
The STTTS has no official knowledge as to how and by whom these acts were committed.
The STTTS does not endorse any criminal acts that have been committed or might be committed.

Acts of protest have apparently become so common that the administration has allegedly resorted to setting up security cameras in order to view the statue.
According to rumor, there are at least three.
This should have sent a message that Bubba is unwanted, but it has gone unheeded.
Note: As far as we know, this is just rumor. The STTTS has not received any proof one way or the other. Still, the fact that the rumor even existed (whether true or not) makes a statement as to the unpopularity of the statue.

Changes to the campus such as this one have made the campus appear more "beautiful" to the administration and to outsiders.
However, many of the changes have made the campus less livable for those who call it home. The removal of the best parking places for Jennings Hall increases the difficulty of moving into or out of the dormitory, as well as bringing in groceries and other daily activities. Handicap spaces were removed as well. In addition, the statue's expression of confusion creates doubts as to its ability to enhance the appearance of the campus.

Decisions such as this show blatant disregard for the students of HPU.
