Bio

• 1961: Born in Newcastle

• 1980-83: Bachelor of Arts, double major in drama, major in English. Worked as party clown.
  "It was awful. I'd always hear one of the mothers say 'Next year, let's get a pony'. And children don't see a clown, they see an adult they have a licence to kick"
  
• 1984: Castanet Club ( a cabaret troupe.

  1989: Writes and performs sketches for TV show Saturday Morning Live.

• 1991- 1998: Triple J breakfast show (91-96 with Helen Razor, 97 with Paul McDermott, 98 with Jen Uldershaw and The Sandman)

• 1992- Robins, along with Steve Abbott (a.k.a The Sandman a.k.a God) and many other successful Newcastle comedians starred in the television program "The Comedy Sale". It lasted 3 episodes
• 1993-94: Live and Sweaty.

• 1994-5: Reporter on McFeast

• 1995:co-wrote 1st book with Helen Razor Three Beers and a Chinese Meal

• 1996-99 Good News Week (96-98 on ABC, 99 on TEN)

• 1997-1998- Robins wrote for Triple J the weekly soap opera for the breakfast show "Captain Pants" which even now after its conclusion still has a cult following. Says Robins of 'The Pants'
  "Captain Pants takes as long to write as it does for me to type it"
• 1998: Good News Weekend
