Centauri Expedition Failed:
Worst Space Disaster In History

In what authorities call the worst space disaster in history, the Centauri Expedition, a team of astrobiologists sent to investigate biospheres on Assic in the Centauri system, exploded yesterday evening.

"The oxygen tanks exploded, and the rest just went up in flames," commented flight plan engineer John Franks. He sighted simmiliar disasters, such as the 20th century Challenger mission, as forewarnings of such an event. "Whenever we design space craft, we use what we call the Challenger Failsafe. It's designed to find any calculated errors that might lead to an explosion of the liquid oxygen tanks."

The entire crew of 542 died while sling shotting around the sun, before their plasma tanks fired.

However, some authorities speculate that the crew might have been dead or passed out far before the explosion. They sight a leak of carbon monoxide on the med deck as to being a possible precussor or even cause of electrical failures on the same deck.

"Quite frankly, we don't know what happened. It could have been a number of things, and at this point all we do is speculate before the salvage crews get there in a couple of weeks," stated Senator Henry Cambell in a press conference on Thursday.

Pleides Cave Network Established

The pleides cave network (on asteriod GH-090023) has been up and running since Wednesday. According to sources, the network will reduce asteroid mining costs by a significant 35.2 percent, larger than any previous project in the system. Previous projects, such as the AE-305 project in 2165, were ridiculed for the constant electrical failures and fires. According to local authorities, several new fuses and updated systems have been added.

Ngua Reservation Treaty Established

In one of the most controversial matters in recent history, the Ngua Reservation on Vhasali has agreed to a treaty that will give Terra 50% of the current reservation, and 60,000 acres of land in the Mbhrantignbma region. However, part of the 50% promised to Terra is Ngua sacred land, and religious authorities in the area refuse to abide by the treaty, citing the misuse of previous burial grounds by the Terran colonists in the area.

Authorities would not comment on the current situation, but mayor George Hais of the Septana colony (which is the colony that will recieve the percentage of land) has been ridiculed as a bigot, for publicly slandering Ngua leader Ngatumbati'Hrm in a press conference earlier this year, and for his involvement in the Hrank's Incident.
