Vampire: Death is only the beginning

"Prague 2003"
Game Master: Lucie Lukačovičová

Vampire: The Masquerade is a Role-Playing Game with officially existing rules (White Wolf Co.). If you don’t know what that means, have a look at Changeling: The Dreaming ;)

The player characters are a group of neonate vampires from different clans. Their adoptive sire, Nuit the Toreador, disappeared after a Sabbath-raid. Now they all found a haven in Tremere Chantry, under protection of Gustav Meyrink.

Player Characters

Petra Roubalová: Charlotte, daughter of Toyen, from clan Toreador. She is a talented painter and collector of art. Charlotte is brown-haired, with delicate features. She fell in love with James, Toyen's servant, who seemed to like her, but now she's unreachable for him. She is Kindred, she's a vampire - he's not.

Bára Beránková: Alice Šimková, progeny of Oblivia, who is the daugher of František Gellner, the Brujah primogen in Prague. Alice was a movie-double and she worked with Oblivia during night movie-shooting. Oficially, Alice died in an accident during the shooting. The only thing she regrets a bit is, that she can't get her money in memoriam. Alice is wild, loud and rebellious, just like her vampire-mother.

Lada Chlebková: Daniela, is a Tzimisce bastard under the protection of Camarilla. She is tanned, black-haired and her favourite colour is black. During her mortal life she studied hypotherapy for the third year. She had a part-time job as a singer in a bar. There she also was - together with her boy-friend - that night, when a blond-haired man in black cloak came in. He resmbled an angel. And he killed everyone in the room exept for Daniela. But you woudn't say that Daniela is alive...

Šárka Houlíková: Eliška, is a quiet girl, who is very skilled in karate. One evening she rushed to save a man, who was beaten by two skin-heads. In the fight which followed, she was shot by one of the attackers. The stranger killed the skin-heads and decided to save the brave girl - and gave her eternal unlife. He was Hawk, the City Gangrel. Because of unknown reasons, his progeny was accepted by Nuit, who brought her under the protective wings of Camarilla.

Constance Croix-de-Feu

Petra Lukačovičová: Constance Croix-de-Feu, is the daughter of highly respected Ventrue primogen Tadeáš Hájek. She is a bit older than the others and she had the chance to get regular accounting and to be introduced to the Prince. When alive, she was daughter of a French ambassador. Now she works together with Nuit, for reasons known only to the two of them.

Markéta Palovská: Eržika, comes from clan Ravnos, but her sire is unknown. She used to be a fortune-teller during her mortal life and made her living this way. Eržika has a mortal twin-sister and two brothers, whom she will probably never see again. She has an exotic kind of beauty, granted by her gipsy origin. Recently she stole a miniature whipping-top forgotten in a cellar and for one reason or the other, she drags it everywhere with her.

Vojta Čepelák: Vojta "Marv", son of Oblivia, from clan Brujah. He is tall, broad-shouldered and ugly. He studied to be a journalist, but his plans and ideals got shattered. He ended like a detectiv, partly cooperating with Prague police, especially with major Badger. Originally he went to arrest Oblivia during one of her illegal techno-parties. But because of her undead strenght and a badly timed Sabbath-raid things somehow went wrong...

Alexandr Kazda: Konstantin Tichý, worked on the airport of Ruzyně and was an expert in knowledge of all technical stuff. He lived a lonely, empty life, concentrated only on mechanical things, machines and tools. One night he had an accident - a drunken driver struck him and drove away quickly. The doctors gave up any hope for saving Konstantin's life, but somebody else did not. Somebody who really didn't mind, that Konstantin's face was awfully scarred... Now Konstantin is a member of clan Nosferatu, he's son of Morlor of Endor, who is most probably the eldest Kindred in Prague.

Jan Kuděla: Oliver Theodor Wagner, is an albino, from birth over-sensitive to the sun. It seems that he is a bad joke of a City Gangrel called Hawk. Oliver grew up in an orphanage, later a professional killer took him as an apprentice. After his teacher's death, Oliver found consolation in a monastery in Prague. One night Hawk and his side-kicks attacked the monastery and started to massacre the monks. Oliver fought against the intruders, killed some of them and was heavily wounded. In the end, despite his true faith, he was made a vampire. And he hates his immortal father for that.

Michal Ptáčník: Hikaru alias Tom Smith - his czech parents, who were well-off, had many contacts in Japan and they gave their son a japanese name, which he hated. As soon as he was eighteen, he practically ran away from home - to the USA. He studied in New York, where he promptly changed his name. Tom studied parapsychology and other not quite widely known dicsciplines. When he returned to Prague, he wanted to visit his parents and explain... He never got the chance to. He's son of Gustav Meyrink, who is the head of the Prague Tremere Chantry.

Sebastian "Loki" Chum: Oleg Kovalenko, is a "highly regretted accident" of signora Silvia Cervantez from clan Giovanni. He was a member of Russian mafia, from childhood trained for killing. Although only eighteen, he was very dangerous. Oleg attacked the headquarters of Italian mafia in Prague, when an important boss was on a visit there. To his surprise, the boss didn't care too much for a bullet in his head. He was just angry because his white suit got dirty. Oleg was caught but spared. Silvia, vampire-daughter of the Italian boss, was to tend Oleg's wounds. But she also made love to him... and Embraced him illegaly. Later on Nuit took him in and saved him from destruction and Silvia from lots of trouble.

Martin "Ozzy": Tomáš alias Kamui, studied history and japanology in Prague. Now he is a Tremere, son of Gustav Meyrink himself. Kamui is the favourite of Nuit, he was the first one, whom she let know she was not dead. Kamui is loyal to his sire Meyrink and to the clan - the Chantry is his home and haven. But Nuit somehow impressed him with her compassionate gentleness. Now he begins to realize, that Meyrink's and Nuit's relationship is very strange and ambivalent. Kamui also left behind a mortal girl, whom he loved, but she was going out with his best friend. Will the law of Masquerade force him never to see her again?
Unlife in the House of Tremere - Kamui's diary (in Czech)

Cervantez Silvia, the Giovanni, is the only Giovanni resident in Prague. She seems to rule the local branch of Italian mafia. Strangely enough, she and her servants often move around Prague hospitals. vzpomínku, sen svůj. A snad nic."

Hawk, the City Gangrel, a mysterious, tanned, dark-haired man with a moustache and a stern and narrow face. He looks somehow exotic and his eyes bear a trace of oriental, perhaps Turkish, origin. His lineage is officially of Sabbath, but for some unknown reason his presence is from time to time tolerated in Prague, which is under the rule of Camarilla. Oblivia is the only one, who is able to express openly her hatred for Hawk, calling him "that Turkish bastard".

"I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in pain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand"
--Sting

Gellner František, the Brujah, is a Prague primogen. When alive, he was a Czech anarchist poet, who disappeared in a battle of World War I. His body was never found, so he was proclaimed dead. He wrote a lot of cynical, anarchist and dirty poetry, but during his eternal unlife, he became less and less radical. Now he is an idealist and has many a row with his daughter Oblivia, who is an iconoclast and an uncultural brat.

"Na policii budu myslit v světě,
jíž osoba má spáti nedala,
která v mém opuštěném kabinetě
spisy a třaskaviny hledala."
--František Gellner

He led his mortal life in years 1525-1600 and was a famous scientist, astronomer and biologist. He translated from Italian into Czech Matthioli's "Herbary" and was a friend of Tycho de Brahe. What their relationship was, after the clan difference had separated them in unlife, is unknown.

vzpomínkou na ulice,
pelyňkem do číše.

Meyrink Gustav, the Tremere, who led his mortal life 1868-1932, was originally a merchant and his name was Gustav Meyer. He later became a known author of mystical and satirical literature under the name Meyrink (his books are: Golem, Green Faces, Valpurga's Night, The Angel of the Western Window, collection of short-stories Black Sphere etc.). He spent his most beautiful and most bitter years in Prague, he loved the spirit of the city but criticized the manners of it's inhabitants. Today he's the head of Tremere Chantry in Prague and a primogen. From time to time still appears among worthy mortals under the name of professor Meyer.

--Gustav Meyrink

Morlor of Endor, the Nosferatu, is rumoured to be the eldest and wisest of Kindred in Prague. He is also one of the most ancient vampires in Europe. He lives the way those of his clan do - hidden underground, in the sewers. Nobody ever saw his face, or at least nobody, who would later be able to tell the tale. He usually appears as a hooded shadow or wears the Mask of the Thousand Faces.

"A bezcitně marně na kuropění
čekám tmou mléčnou bez ozvěny
v odsudku tance a bez proměny."
--Ricarderon

Nuit, the Toreador, is a gentle and calm young woman with dark blue eyes and long white hair. She usually wears a white dress, a silver ring in the form of a rose and a silver pentagram on her necklace - the latter is probably a present from Meyrink. She is the only one of the elders, who doesn't consider the neonates lesser creatures. She is gentle, helpful and friendly, always ready to listen to the problems of others. She understands well the psychical agonies of the transformation into a vampire. And she's able to do quite a lot to secretly give a hand to the youngsters. Only when dealing with Oliver she keeps her distance - repelled by his true faith.

Heal the scars and change the stars!
Would you do it for me?

She wears a red shirt, black trousers and heavy boots, her blond hair tied in two pony-tails with hair-bands in shape of lady-birds. The last thing she desires, is to listen to the words of her sire Gellner. "Papa, don't preach!"

But will it ever be enough? You know it'll never be enough!
You can fly and never land and never need to sleep
But will it ever be enough? You know it'll never be enough!"
--Meat Loaf

Rudolf II. the Habsburk, the Toreador, is the Prince of Prague. He lived 1576-1611. During his life he was one of the most important and known Czech kings, he dwelled in Prague and made it a centre of culture, arts and science. He also invited important scholars and alchymists to his court - e. g. Eduard Kelly and John Dee. But his psyche was very fragile and although he got better during his unlife, sometimes there is neither order nor certainty in his moody behaviour. He has a very friendly relationship with clan Malkavian.

Siga todo secreto
eternamente, mientras gira el mundo
soňando, nunca dicho ya por nadie,
con mi silencio eterno."

Toyen, the Toreador, was a famous Czech surrealist painter, she's progeny of Rudolf, the Prague Prince. She lived in years 1902-1980 and represented the style called "artificialism". During her life she was quite extravagant and a member of an anarchist movement, therefore she still keeps a very good relationship with clan Brujah, although she slipped to a more conservative way of unlife.
