My Trip to Washington, D.C.
The Washington Monument
The Iwo Jima Memorial Monument
The Bombed side of the Pentagon with a plane taking off from Reagan National Airport. Ironic, isn't it.
The White House from Pennsylvania Ave.
The Capital Building
The Smithson Castle, part of the Smithsonian Museum.
In May a friend and I travelled to Washington, D.C. on a semi-business trip. Since we hadn't been there in a while, we went sight seeing with some friends that lived in the area. These are pictures from some of the things we saw. We went into the Museum of Natural History and saw the Hope Diamond, but the pics didn't turn out. Maybe next time!

Seeing the Pentagon was strange. After seeing it as a child (and being inside), then seeing it bombed on 9-11, standing that close to it was awesome. As we walked up to the area where we could see over the construction fence, there was a passenger jet taking off from the Reagan National Airport right behind the Pentagon. It's too bad the picture does not show it, but many of the banners say God Bless America etc. on them. You can tell that it is with great pride that the workers fix the walls. Too bad that the signs were almost declared unconstitutional!
