My Scrapbook continued!
This is a picture I took of the sunset over Lake Michigan. I was at the Cut River in Michigan's U.P. Isn't this beautiful? I have quite a collection of sunsets and sunrises. If you want to see more, let me know and I'll put them up!
This is a neat sign, and a neat place. It is a real bar in the U.P. It is the only business establishment in the town of Gay, MI. Show up, have a beer and a pasty, and play some pool and darts. Watch out for the snowmobilers in the winter and the Yuppers all year!
Michigan's Upper Peninsula
Here's another neat place in the U.P. This is a little town about 4 miles from Taquamenon Falls. It is also 11 miles from Whitefish Point, where the Edmund Fitzgerald went down. (Hell is less than a day's drive from here!)
This is the snow thermometer located in the U.P. of Michigan, right on US-41. It tells the amount of snow for each year, as well as the record high and low for total snow falls. This happened to be a warm winter, or the snow would have been covering the lower part of the sign. The U.P. get and average of 9-14 feet of snow a year!
These pictures are of the upper and lower falls at Taquamenon Falls. The falls are located just outside of Paradise, MI. The upper and lower falls are about 4 miles apart and you can hike from one to the other. The brown water is from the tannic acid in the water due to decomposing trees.
Mackinac and Mackinaw. One is the island and one is the town. I have been to both, and both are great places to visit. This technically is not in the U.P., but it is the gateway to the north, so to speak. Unless you drive through Wisconsin, you will go through Mackinac to get to the U.P.

I travel to Michigan's upper Peninsula about 3-4 times a year. Here are some pictures of places I have been to in the U.P. I only have one pic up from the winter,  but I will try to get some more up soon. Below are more links for U.P. information.
