My life is strewn around the world.
I was born in Austin, Texas. I’ve relatives there, too, and that is a part of my life. I leaned to love water in Florida. I still swim as a sport and a hobby, and that is a part of my life. I discovered my love for mountains and singing in Austria. My singing, if nothing else, is a big part of my life. I learned to love to learn and live at Duke in North Carolina. It changed the way I think and live and that’s definitely my life. I would feel at home in any of these places.
My best friend, Alison, lives in North Carolina. Alison and I grew up together. My closest friend, Sam, lives in Virginia. I talk to Sam more than anyone else and we know every detail of each other’s lives. My soul sister, Molly, lives in Minnesota. Molly and I share half a brain, and we understand each other when no one else does.
My inspiration, Sarah R., lives in Alabama. Sarah showed me the beauty of feeling, something I’m still working on. My sometimes shrink, Sarah C, lives in Florida. This Sarah always helps me when I face a moral dilemma. My friend and always teacher Graham lives in Kentucky. Graham taught me to be true to myself. My tutor in life, Jonah, lives in Germany now. Jonah taught me to seek out the truth and to live by my own rules.
My pretend sister Marianne lives in Oslo, Sweden. Marianne lived with us when she was here and taught my family to “stress down.” My pretend brother, Jonathann, lives in Carrolton. Jonathann teaches me about life and God and guys and watches out for me.
I live here, in Snellville, Georgia. But my life is many places, and I think I like it that way.
