EXAMINATIONS |
Requests for an exemption from any examination should be forwarded to the Course Coordinator, together with an explaination as to why the current examinations are pedagogically inappropriate for the students enrolled in the course. Submission of course syllabuses from other colleges may not reflect an exemption until that exemption has been formally approved by the Course Coordinator. |

EXAMINATION DOCKETS |
No final examination may count more than 60% toward the final grade in the module. |
All students must obtained their examination dockets from the Examination Unit during the study week, prior to the examination week. Both the examination docket and the student card must be placed on the top right-hand side of the examination desk, and they must be visible to the Invigilators when students are asked to sign the examination attendance slip. Students who failed to produce a valid student card or examination docket must report to the Office of Admissions and Records, for verification before he/she can be allowed to sit for the examination. |

EXEMPTIONS FROM EXAMINATIONS |
Lecturers are encouraged to design their courses so that some component of the final grade is derived from coursework. This approach helps to assess the student's performance during the particular semester, rather than relying on a single assessment from the final examination alone. Courseworks may include tests / examinations, presentation / participation, essays, assignments and lab reports. Every module clearly states the contribution of each component of the coursework, and no coursework may count more than 40% towards the final grade in the module. |
Assessment of the course is by examination and coursework. |
Availability of past examination papers to students |
To ensure that all students have equal access to, and familiarity with the types of questions typically asked on the final examination, the Library will keep on reserve: (a) copies of all final examinations administered during the previous three years of currently-offered modules or; (b) a reasonable sampling of the type of questions asked |
