Monowai

Monowai was built by Harland & Wolff Ltd., Greenock as 'Razmak' in 1925 for Peninsular & Orient Steam Navigation Company, London. Vessel aquired by Union Steam Ship Co. in 1930. During the second world war Monowai served as an armed merchant cruiser and troopship. On completion of war service Monowai underwent a major overhaul at Morts dock before re-entering the Trans Tasman passenger trade. In 1960 Monowai was sold to Far East Metal Industry and Shipping Co. Ltd., Hong Kong and arrived at Hong Kong for demolition on the 6th. September 1960.
