Our annual Christmas luncheon was held at Roseville RSL Club on Thursday, 20 November 2008. Roseville RSL again provided a very pleasant venue, having recently been refurbished. Some 42 members, including wives, joined us to celebrate our twenty fourth annual reunion and many friendships were renewed in the lounge bar area prior to the luncheon commencing. This year's menu was a table service choice of hot dishes comprising of Certified Angus Beef Bolar Blade with Leek and Mustard Seed Mash Potatoe and Broccolini. : Butter Braised Barramundi on Harissa and Sundried Olive Smash with Crisp Beans: Platters of vegetables and mixed greens: Alternate servings of Vanilla Cheese Cake and Caramel Panacotta : Tea, Coffee, Juice.

42 people attended this year and we again welcomed interstate visitors Dick Yoell, Roger Alderman and John Saddler from Victoria. The 18th. April 2008 was the 40th. anniversary of the Wahine disaster and one minutes silence was observed in memory of those who lost their lives on that fateful day. During the luncheon Bob Dickinson organised a large screen TV presentation of a recent documentary on the Wahine Disaster which ran for about 40 minutes and was much appreciated by all present. Thank you Bob.

Myrna advised that members Jack Griffiths passed away on 28th. July 2008 just two weeks prior to his 92nd. birthday and Jim Swete died on the 3rd. of August 2008 shortly after his 86th. birthday.
