Biography of Les Kresky

In addition to serving as principal of Union Temple's Religious School, Les Krevsky is employed as a guidance counselor for the New York City school system. Raised in Harrisburg, Pa. within a traditional Jewish family, he attended a Hebrew day school, studied psychology at Temple University and received his master's degree in family therapy from San Francisco State University.
Mr. Krevsky has worked in several Hebrew schools, synagogues, and Jewish communal agencies as an educator, programmer, and administrator. He also worked as a volunteer for Sherut La'am, a volunteer program in Israel where he was a program consultant at the Leo Baeck School in Israel. He also worked as a volunteer on Kibbutz S'dot Yam.
Mr. Krevsky continues to remain connected to the Jewish community, volunteering on several committees and for various Jewish communal organizations in Brooklyn, including the Brooklyn Jewish Film Festival and the Park Slope Jewish Center's concert series.
As principal of Union Temple's Religious school Mr. Krevsky wants to provide a positive Jewish experience for the students in which they can explore their Jewish roots, learn more about Judaism, and develop a working knowledge of liturgical Hebrew. Mr. Krevsky's vision is to accomplish these goals through a structured curriculum and the use of various creative media including music, crafts, film, and other art forms.
Les and his wife Sofia live in Park Slope, Brooklyn, and have two beautiful daughters, Talia and Yael.
