Concert Review
"Jumpin' Jack Flash" - The counterfeit Stones. Hull City Hall, 26th September
The Counterfeit Stones are not your average tribute band. They are THE tribute to the Rolling Stones, and if theres anyone better I want to hear them...
The atmosphere even before they came on was electrifing, with period music playing in the background. The show combines comic footage with music, with lots of little in jokes "Give a hand for Keith on piano. He'll be on somthing a lot stronger later". As for when they start, they knock you back. Rarely do you see such attention to detail, in both the skill of the musicians, down to suitable backdrops, signs and period microphones. All the hits were there, and the audience went beserk to "jumpin Jack flash" - I was not the only one on my feet! When you don't want a concert to finish, then its suceeded, and finishing with Satifaction everyone who was fit enough was up and jiving - as I shut my eyes the music, the screams of the audience and the applause sounded just like my "Gimme shelter live at the Albert Hall" album. An absolute must see for rock 'n' rollers of all ages. |
