Facts on “Pretty good” Basic Story When a secret agent goes missing on an investigation, the papers blame WHITE the head of UNIT 6, a special unit tasked with the execution of spies. It was in fact a trap to uncover a double agent. Agent Charlie is sent to Berlin to get rid of the double agent. When she meets him, it turns out to be her boyfriend. Story in depth Agent Tango is sent to investigate a factory owned by local crime boss Alfie Ferranti. When he is intercepted and killed, the blame falls on White, his boss, who had refused to withdraw him from the mission. A radio operator goes to the press who blows it all over the headlines. In fact the mission was a hoax. Ferranti wanted his new security system testing. White wanted a look at the place. A deal was struck. It should have gone fine, the agent was handed back to White. But the Radio operator, under strict orders to keep his mouth shut, disobeyed and rang a tabloid newspaper. Only one man knew this. Agent F Freddie. White gave him plans of the building, and where Tango would be entering. He leaked them. As the mission was a hoax, White could blow his cover. So Ferranti got his security tested, White got a look at the building and exposed a double agent into the bargain. Why couldn’t the radio man keep his mouth shut? Charlie is withdrawn from a mission in Africa, much to her annoyance. She catches up with F Freddie in the corridor, having not seen him for ages. They spend a passionate night together. She is then sent to Berlin to meet an unnamed agent with orders to terminate him and get out immediately. She meets the agent, and it turns out to be F Freddie. He tells her he’s sick of this game and quitting. He askers her to marry him, Charlie responds with a bullet in the head. The East Germans have plans however, and send Eric Krauss, their top agent, to arrest her. In a battle to the death Charlie escapes and is rescued in the nick of time by the English. |
