Cactus Girl's Political Views

Okay. I'm just ticked about this election stuff. So I'm going to rant right here. If you want to argue, write something on my guestbook.

I'm a Republican. I'm for Bush. And contrary to what everyone I know has been saying for the past three days--I do not need to have my head examined! There is nothing wrong with me being a Republican. It does not make me stupid or any other of the adjectives my so called "friends" called me today.

So I'm for Bush. Bush is not evil no matter what anyone says. And Bush is not stupid--especially compared to Gore (everything is compared to Gore). Did Bush flunk out of divinity school? No! Did Gore? Yes! Did Bush leave Harvard Law School because of bad grades? No! Did Gore? Yes! See, yesterday this girl practically screamed at me "How can you support Bush? He's stupid! He's incredibly stupid!" Yeah.

My friend who said I should have my head examined said "How can you be for Bush? He'd outlaw abortion!" First of all, I think abortion is murder and if he outlaws it, fine. Second, I don't think the President has the right to do that even if he wanted to.

Also, I don't understand how everyone can support Gore after all he did during the Clinton administration. I don't have all the facts but can people really believe he was completely innocent and knew nothing about what was going on? Come on! The American public can't be that stupid. Well, they elected Clinton twice.

And then the girl said "Bush is racist." How does she explain George Prescott Bush? (Who, may I mention is really cute and I saw him speak once). Just because Bush isn't violently pushing hate crimes legislation doesn't mean he's racist. He probably has a darn good reason for not supporting hate crimes legislation. She was just spouting off Democratic propaganda.

This whole thing makes me really mad. This morning, I was in a room with some other people, and there's a Libertarian behind me, me a Republican, and everyone else is a Democrat. There's no way they're going to offend the beliefs of the Libertarian ("he's entitled to his own opinion") so they attack me! The other day I said to my friends "I'm tired of always being the minority" and my Chinese Democrat friend said "Hey, you can't complain--I'm a minority every day." But there are laws and rules to protect against that kind of discrimination. You say Wop (I don't know what that is!) and you're filed with a lawsuit. But everyone is free to diss my political party. One guy said "Here, everyone is Republican. We Democrats are in the minority."

I don't think so.

It's a few days later now and it looks like Bush is going to win (seeing as the vote in Florida was certified and all and he was declared the winner). Does anyone else think that Gore is going nuts? How many times does that guy have to count the votes before he accepts that he lost. I think it's interesting that the Democrats have been doing whatever they can to get Gore to win and he still isn't.
