The Characters
Liz Parker
Liz is an honor student. She thought her life was really normal until Max healed her. She used to date Kyle Valenti but broke up with him. Now she believes she and Max are meant to be together.
Maria De Luca
Maria is...Maria. She's been best friends with Liz Parker for years. She has a tumultuous relationship with Michael Guerin. She lives with her mom, who was a hippie back in the day. Maria is into aromatherapy, always sniffing a small vial of scented oil to try and calm down. Even though her home life is not as stable as Liz's, she seems more grounded than Liz.
Alex Whitman
Alex was a good friend of Maria and Liz for a long time but felt left out when they couldn't divulge Max's secret to him. Alex is very nice and supportive. He is always there for his friends. He cares deeply about Isabel Evans before and after he found out she was an alien. Alex plays guitar in his band named The Whits.
Max Evans
Max is a brooding, serious character. He risked exposure when he healed Liz, and also when he told her the truth about him. He cares about Liz but is cautious in forming a relationship with her because he thinks it is too dangerous for them both. He is friends with Michael Guerin.
Michael Guerin
Michael has had the toughest life of all of the characters. Max and Isabel were adopted by the Evans family but Michael has been bounced around from foster family to foster family. Eventually Michael is granted emancipated minor status and his apartment gives the characters a new place to meet and talk in private. Michael cares about Maria De Luca, but is careful about forming attachments to someone who he believes he will have to leave behind when the time comes for him to return to his home planet.
Isabel Evans
Isabel is a pretty, popular girl. She can be annoying and forceful. One reason she likes Alex is he can see her nicer side. Isabel is able to dreamwalk. She found out Alex's feelings for her when she went into his dream. Isabel is usually very cautious about whom they reveal their secret to, but was very anxious to tell her mother the truth about her and Max. Isabel is also protective of Max and Michael, both of whom she considers her brothers.
Sheriff Valenti
Sheriff Valenti is the sheriff of the small town of Roswell. His father searched for evidence of aliens, and now Jim is following in his footsteps. He was suspicious of Max Evans for the entire season until the last episode, where he learned the truth about Max, Isabel, and Michael. At first Sheriff Valenti's motive was to prove Max was an alien, but now he is on their side, helping them to get away from Agent Pierce.
Kyle Valenti
Kyle is funny. Kyle used to date Liz before Max came along. He was jealous of Max. Kyle was the one character who was always out of the loop. He never came close to finding about Max, Isabel, and Michael until the season finale where Max heals Kyle's bullet wound. Kyle is a jock who plays basketball and wrestles. He is also not as law-abiding as a sheriff's son should be; he drinks and drives and lots of other stuff. Kyle is always confused as to what is going on with his ex-girlfriend.
