INTRODUCTION

The United Empires of the Middle Ages are NOT a Historical group, nor are we a role-playing group. Our one goal is to have fun. The United Empires of the Middle Ages goal is to re-enact Empires as they COULD have been, from 500-1500 CE.

The United Empires of the Middle Ages strive to make everything they do as "Family Friendly" as possible. Because of this The United Empires of the Middle Ages have changed their combat rules to include all reasonable age ranges. The United Empires of the Middle Ages have four combat "Classes".

These Classes are as follows:

This tome can be supplemented by the Grand Marshall of the Empires, at any time. This Guidebook shall be used by all of The United Empires of the Middle Ages, starting July 10, 2000.

The Rules and Standards outlined in this tome are the minimum rules and standards acceptable for combat in The United Empires of the Middle Ages. It is the prerogative of the individual Empire's to add to these basic standards, and to establish more rigid standards where warranted by necessity, or by Empire practice or accepted convention, upon notice, and approval of the Grand Marshall of the Empires, of such changes. You as a fighter or Marshall should become familiar with any additional rules and standards of your Empire.

This tome has been devised by the Grand Marshall of the Empire, who has tried to make it as clear and accurate as possible. This tome, combined with any additional Empire rules and standards, is intended to promote safety on and off the field of combat, for The United Empires of the Middle Ages. However, this tome, no matter how clear or accurate, cannot replace common sense, good judgement, and concern for the safety of all participants in promoting safety on and off the field of combat. If a question arises of how to apply this tome, ALWAYS choose the answer that promotes the greatest degree of safety for all participants.
