UPM Projects

The UPM Cookbook. UPM's cookbook will be a compilation of various recipes from members of the group.  We are planning the usual sections of a cookbook, the main dishes, desserts, side dishes, vegan recipes and others which will be divided seasonally with sub-categories for each season. We are also working on sections for magical recipes, including ritual foods, herbal preparations and incense. As a bonus section, we're creating a Wheel of the Year in Food, to go along with the UPM calendar. This section will include recipes to use for rituals on each Sabbat, and some information about each holiday.

If you would like to contribute a recipe (please send only those you have tried and approved), please fill out the form below. It will be mailed to us when you hit the "Send Mail" button. Thanks for your contribution!!

Sistership with EcoYoff.  As an organization we have fostered a sister relationship with EcoYoff International, Inc., an international not-for-profit NGO ecocommunity based in Yoff, Senegal, a community which is both a traditional fishing village and a rapidly developing suburb of Dakar. Through EcoYoff, UPM has developed and is progressively deepening ties with the traditional goddess and spirit-oriented spiritual community which is still practiced in Yoff alongside the historically newer religion of Islam. These traditions are maintained by trained priestesses within the community; one of the aspects we have most learned about so far is the practices involved in trance healing ceremonies.  We are only beginning to discover the full potential of what we can do together, but it presents exciting possibilities indeed. We hope to be able to raise funds to allow a UPM member to travel to Yoff in order to meet with some of the priestesses, share some of our beliefs and worldviews. EcoYoff has also provided the funding for the hiring of two work-study students on the Cornell campus - one position for joint fundraising projects, the other for research into the connections between indigenous, earth-centred, and other Pagan religious traditions.
