Ego, Arrogance & Self-Esteem
By Edward B. Toupin
|
|
The pursuit
of pleasure and the avoidance of pain are not our only motivators.
Whether you realize it or not, our underlying purpose in life
is to define and pursue our true purpose in life. Regardless
of what we feel or do, we are all simply searching for some
type of meaning within our own individual existence that can
somehow take us further. However, many problems we face in our
lives arise from the lack of true life meaning.
We sometimes
lose our direction and become distressed about our circumstances.
Our body goes through the stages of stress, including panic,
defiance, and fatigue. When we encounter too much stress, we
become exhausted and in a last ditch effort, we replace true
meaning with an imitation meaning, and make this the primary
focus of life. We then lose our self-esteem and direction under
layers of defense mechanisms, ego and arrogance, that not only
destroy our external world, but they can obscure our own view
of the world.
Ego occurs
when you have no foundation of belief or clarity of purpose
in your world. Ego is cleverness to hide ignorance and obscures
clarity. Ego provides you with the mechanism to affect everyone
around you negatively to bring them down so that you can feel
better about yourself.
Arrogance
occurs when you hold on to useless and malfunctioning ways of
living life, but you're unsure of its stability. Arrogance is
the stubborn conviction that, against all odds, you will push
forward down a path that is obviously wrong for you and everyone
around you. It is a situation that develops when you begin to
lose faith in your own beliefs and direction, yet you still
believe, against your own best judgement, that you can succeed
along the same path.
Self-esteem
can only exist when you take the time to clear yourself of those
things that no longer work, take pride in yourself, and make
a realistic plan to better your life and yourself. It is not
a feeling of power over others, but it is an acceptance of others
and a feeling of power over your own life.

How Can We Keep Faith?
By Carrie Hart & Quado
|
|
This
message is in answer to a readers question. The question
is:
How can
we have faith that everything will turn out for the best, and
that we can trust in God and let go, when we are in the middle
of a very difficult situation, and there seems to be no guidance?
How can we keep our faith in love, goodness and beauty on this
earth when we come across so much negativity and so much pain?
Quado, do
you have an answer to this question?
Ah, yes,
of course, of course.
First, let
us separate the larger global question from the personal. On
the larger issue, of how we can have faith when there is so
much pain in the world, I would ask you to stop reading the
reports in the newspapers which focus on the pain. Stop reading
reports that tell you about the horrible things that are happening
in the world. Stop watching those TV shows.
For when
these media-covered events are brought down to the personal,
they are different. In individual lives, like your own, things
do not have that large-stage presence. When things happen to
you, they happen on a personal level, and are dealt with there.
And in any
individual life, pain is balanced by pleasure, beauty balances
out the ugliness, and each life has its share of glories and
wonders along with its opposite.
Yet this
is not how the world is reported. Do not allow yourself to be
overcome and overwhelmed by what the papers and television choose
to focus upon in their search to sell more and more. Their job
is to find spectacular things to report so that you will spend
money. That is all.
And so,
to your own life, this is where we must focus. Focus down into
your own life and what it holds and see what sustains the faith
there. And here, I would ask again that you center yourself
within what is, not what you are afraid might be. This difficult
situation you mention about which you have no guidance, for
example. Separate out what actually is from your fears and your
doubts. Set aside yesterday and the mistakes you have made,
your guilt and your regrets. Set those emotions aside. Set aside
the fears you have about the mistakes you might make tomorrow
and about the things which might happen to you. Set all of your
doubt and fear aside for a moment and look at life as it is
right now, this moment. Look at what actually is. The situation
as it exists in this physical reality.
Now, accept
this. Accept it just as it is. And given this acceptance and
deep understanding, figure out what makes sense. What makes
sense to do, when you strip all the fear away? There will be
an answer. There will be a correct response. And that is all
you need to do. Deal with each day as it comes, deal with each
moment as it comes, get below your emotions and deal with life.
Respond from an objective place. Respond from a place where
you balance your own best interests with those of other parties.
Respond from a place which just accepts life as it is.
And now,
as to your question: if everything happens for the best, why
do these bad things seem to happen? Your life is lived out on
a larger scale than you can see. There are patterns, there are
flows. And you are not privy to those patterns and flow. There
is dark to contrast with the light; there is a tear to balance
the joy. Life is this interplay of opposites, and both exist.
Life is an experience. It is life, it is experience, it is.
And you
are. You will have difficult things happen in your life. You
will have wonderful things happen in your life. The question
is not, are these for the best? The question is, did I respond
in the best possible way I could for the circumstances?
Did I extend
a hand of compassion and help? Did I show courage and integrity
in the face of conflict? Did I reach down into my heart and
find forgiveness there? Did I act out of love and compassion?
Did I step out and overcome my fears, overcome my doubts, and
let all of my talents and abilities shine out for the world
to see? Did I live in the absolutely best way that I could,
responding from that core of goodness and trueness within me,
no matter what the circumstances? This is the question to ask.
And then,
when you ask this question, you will see that this is the progress
toward the best that you are seeking. It is not that all events
are happy events. It is not even that you are moving toward
greater happiness. It is that you are moving toward a greater
expression of who you are, a greater understanding of who you
are, this is the best you are moving toward. And in this movement,
in this quest to become your own best expression of yourself
that you can possibly be, there will be many difficult events
which you must deal with.
These events
are not always kind. They are often painful. But you can learn
to respond to them from your center of truth, and that is the
best you are seeking.
And sometimes,
the moment will be so full of beauty and joy, your inner peace
will shine out and meld with the outer beauty, and you will
feel the blood coursing through your veins and you will know
that you are deeply blessed. Yes, these moments are there for
you as well.
The help
is all around you. You are deeply loved and cared for. The guidance
is there. But it exists not within your fears, but within yourself
in this moment, this moment right now. Become very peaceful.
Center yourself in now, in what is. Then ask, what is the best
thing for me to do now, just as things are, just as life is,
right now? And the answer will come to you. Under the fear,
under the doubt, under all of that in the heart of peace which
is within you. The guidance is there, within you, right now,
always now, right here.
Have faith
in yourself, that you are strong and capable and can handle
whatever comes your way. Set aside the doubt and fear and know
that the answers will be there. All you need to do is reach
yourself and you will know. The answer of peace, the answer
of love, the answer which lies in your center with a settled
calm feeling. It is there.

Shifts & Changes
By Doreen Virtue
|
|
Ever since
the Harmonic Concordance of November 8, 2003, we've been catapulted
into huge personal changes. Most of us feel peaceful and trustful
of the changes, even though we may not have a clear picture
of where we're headed. One lightworker told me recently, "I
can feel that I'm moving to a different part of the country.
I don't know where, but I trust that I'll be perfectly led."
Another lightworker reflected these sentiments when she told
me, "Everything in my life is completely changing. Usually,
I'd be worried and want to know exactly what's going on. But
for some reason, I feel totally calm and peaceful about it all."
As I've
written about previously, many people are undergoing physical
transformations as they're Divinely guided to change their diets
and lifestyle. Other lightworkers are making the transition
into self-employment or relationship changes.
One thing's
clear, though: those who fight and resist these guided changes
are experiencing emotional and life turbulence. It's very important
to go with the flow right now, and to follow the waves of inner
guidance that lovingly push you to do things like: meditate;
eat more healthfully; avoid chemicals; exercise; heal or make
changes in jobs and relationships; awaken
your manifesting and healing ability; move to a new residence;
heal and clear yourself; get your finances in order; take classes;
write, teach, and read; and other guidance that helps you and
your loved ones to spiritually grow.
We're all
riding the wave of ascension and it's part of the mass awakening
process. As you become more aware of the magnificent light and
love within yourself and others, the old illusions of darkness
begin to shrink away. This shift in "power" from the
darkness to the light necessarily creates changes.
The one
thing you can count on right now is change. You're changing,
and everyone around you is changing. The governments; education,
medicine, and all aspects of the world are changing. Although
we may not know the specific ways in which these changes will
shake-out, we do know that it's all for the best.
Your part
is very important: Keep your mind focused on seeing only the
Light and the Love within yourself and others. Know that you
are God's treasure, and you are an amazingly powerful, awesome,
valuable, holy, creative, and much-needed soul. Don't play little
or compromise in your life. Look for ways to express Divine
love to everyone, including yourself. And enjoy the ride of
these beautiful changes as we usher in the new age of peace,
cooperation, and manifestation!

Sirius

This Month's Topic:
Sirius - The Dog Star
----------------------------------------------------------------
The brightest
star in the sky. nine light years away . . .
As a child
I was aware of a bright star in the sky; many clear summer nights
I would lay out in the yard on the grass and stare up into the
night sky with a childhood longing, for what I did not know.
My fascination with this star followed me into adulthood when
in 1986 I came across a book called, The Sirius Mystery, by
Robert K.G. Temple.
Sirius,
The Dog Star has been found in the writings and legends of many
cultures long before we had the technology to discover it. The
Egyptians associated the appearance of the Dog Star with the
flooding of the fields and the birth of a new year. Later, the
Greeks and Romans associated the Dog Star with Orion, The Hunter,
and his two hunting dogs Canis Major and Canis Minor. The Greeks
named the constellation Sirius, "the Scorcher" as
they believed the Dog Star was responsible for the hot weather
and listlessness that plagued them in the summer months.
According
to the ancient Egyptians, Sirius is the celestial representation
of the goddess Isis, sister & wife of Osiris. She was the
most important goddess of all Egyptian mythology, and assumed
the attributes and functions of virtually every other important
goddess. Her most important functions were those of motherhood,
marital duties, healing the sick, and the working of magical
spells and charms. She was believed to be the most powerful
magician in the universe, owing to the fact that she had
learned the secret name of Ra from the god himself. Isis was
responsible for helping Osiris to return to life; and for assisting
her husband to rule in the Land of the Dead.
The knowledge
of the Dogon of Mali, precedes the knowledge of the ancient
Egyptians by hundreds of years. For thousands of years the Dogon
have had an excellent understanding of the solar system, particularly
the Sirius Star System. In addition to plotting the orbits of
the stars circling Sirius, they also
identified one of its companions-Sirius B-as being one of the
densest and tiniest stars in our galaxy. The most notable aspect
of their observations is that Sirius B is invisible to the unaided
eye. A photo of this star was not obtainable until 1970.
The Sirius
star system was suspected of having more than one star when
in 1844 erratic movement of Sirius was noticed. The Dogon revealed
their knowledge of the Sirius star system to French Anthropologists.
Marcel Griaule and Germaine Dieterlen, who worked among the
Dogon from 1931 to 1952.
Dogon people
have lived on the Bandiagra Plateau, about 300 miles south of
Timbuktu, Mali from about the year 200 BCE. They claim to have
received their culture from the Nommo, an amphibious race
of space entities who come from the star system Sirius. The
Dogon mythology is extremely complicated and detailed, their
knowledge of the Sirius system and other cosmological data are
implemented
into their beliefs which are an integral part of their daily
life.
The Dogon,
say that the drawings on the walls of their cave showed them
about certain beings who came to Earth a long time ago and information
about where they came from. These drawings
show a flying saucer coming out of the sky, and landing on three
legs. Then it depicts the beings in the ship making a big hole
in the ground, filling it with water, jumping out of the ship,
and into the water, and finally coming up to the edge of the
water. These beings looked very much like dolphins. Maybe they
were dolphins, but it is not know for certain. They then started
communicating, and described where they came from, and gave
the Dogon tribe this information.
HUMAN TYPE
C: Very little is known about these. They are supposedly highly
evolved, spiritual type of great benevolence to earth humans.
They are from Sirius and don't appear to be much involved with
earth happenings at this time.
Points of
interest:
- The Dogon
have know about the circulation of the blood in the body.
- In our
own culture, the Englishman William Harvey (1578-1657) discovered
the circulation of the blood.
- There
appears to be a mysterious connection between the star Sirius
and planet Earth. Sirius, and our own planet are gravitationally
linked, even though an enormous distance separates them. They
move through space spiralling around each other in a helix pattern
that resembles, mathematically, the
geometry of the DNA helix. Many ancient cultures marked the
helical rising of Sirius ( when Sirius rises over the horizon
just before the Sun) with great ceremony, and based their calendar
year on it.
- Sirius
figures prominently in the Dogon myths. The tribe has a periodic
Sirius festival called the "Segui" ceremony; each
celebration lasts several years (the last was in 1968-72.) The
interval between ceremonies may be forty, fifty or sixty years.
- Through
the carbon dating of old ritual masks researchers have established
the antiquity of the Segui ceremonies. Such criteria suggest
that these periodic festivals have been going on for at least
600 years and possibly much longer.
- Astronomers
Carl Sagan and Ian Ridpath, have suggested that the modern astronomical
aspects of the complex Dogon mythology entered the lore only
recently, probably shortly before the myths
were written down in the 1930s. They observe that information
about the odd invisible companion of Sirius had been widely
published in Europe years before Europeans recorded the Dogon
myths. As anthropologists have known for a long time, primitive
tribes have a remarkable talent for absorbing interesting new
stories into their traditional mythology.
- Robert
Temple produces evidence for the great antiquity of the Sirius
cult. The number "fifty" has great significant in
ancient myths. He points out that the Dogon myths also describe
a third star (astronomers would call it "Sirius C"),
as yet undiscovered. These same myths, Temple claims, identify
a planet circling that star as the home of Nommo, an alien creature
who founded the Dogon civilization.
- Robert
Temple, spent eight years studying the Dogon mythology, and
is convinced that he can trace the Sirius-B information back
to the Sumerians. This of course would destroy the modern influence
explanation totally. So where does this leave the mysteries
of Sirius? The antiquity of the Dogon astronomy is not so obvious
as ancient astronaut enthusiasts claim but neither has it been
disproved. Whatever their place in the search for extraterrestrial
contact, the Dogon myths are certainly odd. The
Stone Age storytellers speak by their campfires of other people
on other planets and of other mysteries. Our mysteries may be
different but our questions are the same and we are no wiser.
What are
your thoughts on the subject?

Movie Alert: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
By Stephen Simon
|
|
Hi
To Our Worldwide Spiritual Cinema Community,
"Change
your heart,
and look around you..
Change your heart,
it will astound you
.....everybody`s gotta learn sometime..."
Your heart
has been broken in a love relationship that ends.
Someone
offers you the chance to literally erase that relationship--that
person--and everything about it and them--from your memory forever.
Would you
do it?
Should you do it?
COULD you do it?
Such is
the provocative premise of ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS
MIND. As with most films written by the brilliant Charlie Kaufman
(ADAPTATION, BEING JOHN MALKOVICH), ETERNAL SUNSHINE is not
easy to summarize and that is one of its great seductions, a
word I use intentionally because the film, also due to the brilliant
direction of Michel Gondry, literally seduces you into its mood
and maintains it from first frame to last.
To delve
into the story too much would so much lessen the discovery of
and fascination in its intricacy that I will only say that the
heart of the film takes place in the mind of its main character
Joel, played with nuance, sensitivity, and endearing vulnerability
by Jim Carrey, in the first role in which he literally disappears
into his character. As Carrey remembers Clementine, the great
love of his life (played with heartbreaking, poignant, eclectic
and luminescent beauty by the inestimable Kate Winslett), each
memory is, at his request, systematically erased....or ...is
it? Can it ever be?
The touchstone
of Spiritual Cinema is the asking of questions about who we
are and why we are here. As such, ETERNAL SUNSHINE is perhaps
a seminal film and one that I passionately recommend that our
Communities see together as a group, or with other friends and
loved ones, because the discussions afterwards hold the promise
of a very emotional catharsis. Beyond, beneath, and above the
story itself lie hypnotic musings and tantalizing possibilities.
The extraordinary
Japanese film AFTER LIFE illuminated the intriguing dilemma
of having to choose one memory in which to spend eternity. In
ETERNAL SUNSHINE, the haunting question relates rather to the
potential erasure of memories of those we have loved and who
have loved us. What happens to our experience of those memories
if the love transforms into pain, heartbreak, and sadness? Do
we live in the sunshine of the love as it was when it shone
most brightly or do we suffer in the darkness of the pain of
the aftermath of heartbreak and disillusionment? No matter how
deeply our pain might run, would we erase those memories if
we could? Or, perhaps, can we choose to experience both the
light and the darkness, simultaneously and forever? The choice
is always ours. If we could literally erase those conscious,
and even subconscious memories, would something still remain
in the depth of our unconscious, waiting to be triggered anew
at a particular moment? Most importantly, what indeed ARE those
memories? When we know that time is an illusion, and that we
are spiritual beings having a human experience, what do we make
real and what do we render to our dream and other than conscious
states?
Past lives,
perhaps?
Our memories
in our waking, breathing existence are one representation of
our "reality" and yet there are other states of our
"beingness" that do not relate to our waking life,
but rather belong to that infinite world of the perpetual life
of our souls. Within our soul groups, we journey from lifetime
to lifetime with those with whom we have made an eternal commitment
to pursue growth and evolution. When we meet someone in one
lifetime, we may not "remember" them in a conscious
sense, but there is a stored genetic memory of the essence of
our spirits that is as palpable and real, if not more so, as
our senses of touch, taste, and feel. So we resonate in their
presence as though we do "know" them as, in fact,
we do. The inexorable attraction that we feel seems to have
no precedent in our conscious lives but we nevertheless instinctively
know each other. Even if that experience eventually becomes
one of pain and sadness, we internally know that our sacred
pact of mutual growth has been honored. With this vision of
consciousness, there are no victims or blame; instead, there
are only commitments kept and promises fulfilled.
Isn`t this
all a metaphor for our journey through our lifetimes, when we
make decisions in the world between death and life and then
play out those commitments in the moments between life and death?
When, no matter what, we recognize each other without the assistance
of conscious memory. When we know we`ve been together before
because we have. When only the illusionary veil of the cycle
of death and life separates us from remembering who we have
been to each through the centuries. When we make these eternal
commitments, we have intentions that may not ever consciously
occur to our human selves but, somehow, we find each other and
play out the scenarios. On our way home...to oneness.
In ETERNAL
SUNSHINE, Clementine and Joel find a blissful love that is reflected
in their differences (his shyness and her extroverted charm)
and their similarities (Chinese food, adventures at night in
the dark)....and yet they repeat patterns from previous relationships
that ultimately lead to separation; however, they receive a
gift of such extravagant promise that perhaps, once and for
all, those patterns can be shattered forever. The experiences
of Joel and Clementine seem then to me to be a metaphor for
that inexorable and evolutionary quest of our souls from lifetime
to lifetime...and then...beyond.
Perhaps,
then, at the depth and breadth of its vision, this amazing movie
even presents us with the hope that our running can finally
come to an end in the ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF (OUR) SPOTLESS MIND.
As such, the film is nothing less than a reflection of those
extraordinary promises that we make to each other, the "knowing"
that no disappointment or heartbreak can erase from the blueprint
of our soul. When entertainment can do this, it transcends the
experience of movies and touches the face of eternity.
And offers
tantalizing glimpses to us of who we may really be.
As the haunting
theme song of the film reminds us:
"Change
your heart,
and look around you...
Change your heart,
it will astound you
.....everybody`s gotta learn sometime..."
With affection
and gratitude. Stephen

Astrological Influences for April

Full
Moon in Libra
Monday, April 5, 4:03 am PDT
|
The
individualistic Aries Sun opposes the Moon in other-oriented
Libra. Self-interest and accommodation are the two poles
of awareness that challenge relationships now. The bumpy
road from "I" to "thou" is smoothed
by harmonious aspects from inclusive Neptune to the Sun
and Moon. The conflict between what's good for me and what's
nice for you can be dissolved in the awareness of a greater
reality in which we recognize that this separation is only
an illusion. |
Mercury
Retrograde
Tuesday, April 6, 1:18 pm PDT
|
This
thrice-annual event is the astrological excuse for screw-ups
of all kinds. Yet, the reality is that this is a period
when we can go back and gather the threads of disparate
thoughts and weave them into a whole cloth of meaning. The
mind is not messed up with Mercury retrograde, it's simply
redirected to take the long way around, which is enriching
for those more interested in observing what's here than
in getting to the next stop. |
Mercury

A
second tour of Mercury in Aries can rekindle mental sparks
and fresh
ideas that have been recently forgotten. There is a purity
of perception
that brings clarity within a narrowly defined field, excellent
for
illuminating details, yet not so adept at grasping the big
picture. |

their website, see after the article.
As
we bring this four-month segment that has attempted to reveal
the DEPTH of BEING for each one of us, this month will bring
together all chakras into form in the heart. We now deal with
all the gateways of the heart coming together in a powerful
way. This month will prepare us for the EXPANSION of BEING in
the second four months of the year.
We will
build the sense of power in the heart. We will feel connection
in all the chakra pairings that were built in the first three
months. We may feel a warmth and glow as the soul begins to
move and radiate. The crown chakra and minor chakras around
the crown of head will open a great deal at this time.
There may
be some dizziness and a sense of alternating between heaviness
and lightness. You may have flu symptoms throughout this whole
period of time. Hot flashes in specific areas of the body will
be common. Heating up of head and face will take place. Heart
flushes as well.
We may experience
shots of energy to the back of heart, which then spread out
to create a sense of disorientation. Everything may feel dreamlike
or artificial. The assemblage point at the back of heart is
beginning to shift.
This will
be marked by a release of experience from linear time and more
into a sense of presence of being. We may feel this presence
in the womb of the soul, radiating from the solar plexus and
then from heart. As we continue forward, the two places will
join.
There will
be activity along the spine, as the higher will breaks up the
patterns of the lower will. (i.e. control and manipulation and
domination, etc). A greater flow of will energy will move up
and down spine.
There will
be lower body movements that activate sexual energy and a sense
of purpose. The sexual energy is the creative energy (as opposed
to just gratification). The heart will stimulate the sexual
energy as well.
Waves of
energy moving up and down the body more often will reveal a
deeper connection in the Self. You will be like a deep ocean
of experience and presence. There will be lots of purification
that leads to new integration of depths of Self in this four-month
period.
Do not forget
that this is all now being ruled by the fourth level of initiation
the Crucifixion. This means we are in a time of tremendous
surrender of lower will to higher will as we move into the will
of the soul in the heart! This is a very exciting time to BE
and claim the life force and choose to truly LIVE from our rising
inner truth, purpose, meaning and value of Self and one another.

About
The Authors:
"It
continues to be our goal to reach as many people as possible
with these pieces of healing information. However, we also continue
to be concerned about the need to gather specific tools with
which to respond and integrate these changing energies. We feel
it is vital to be able to put the pieces of the puzzle into
a larger context of healing. That is why we have put together
more specifics of the entire personal and planetary movement,
as well as what we can continue to expect in each step, and
a grounded process of dealing with these changes - in Ron's
book, Revelations
for a Healing World Book One. It
has already proved to help hundreds and hundreds of people all
over the world. We hope that you will consider it as a tool
to nurture and educate those around you at this time."
Ron
Baker is an author, a self-empowerment coach, international
teacher, Reiki Master, counselor and healing practitioner. Before
pursuing a career in the healing arts, he was very successful
as a performing artist - acting in over 60 leading roles in
film and on Broadway and opera stages around the world. His
life is now dedicated to educating and inspiring others to tap
deeper layers of personal potential and self-empowerment.

IT'S
ALL ABOUT ME
An Aries
bumper sticker could be "It's all about ME!" If this
phrase invokes images of narcissistic egomaniacs, you have tuned
into the lower, unconscious manifestation of Aries. However,
at higher levels of awareness these words can be a touchstone
for self-empowerment and taking full responsibility for our
lives.
One of the
main lessons our inner Aries has to teach us is to look to ourselves
as the cause of all the effects that happen in our lives. Have
you ever noticed how many Aries attract one challenging situation
after another? Dramas seem to unfold like clockwork in their
lives. All these situations give Aries a chance to notice how
they are projecting, and as a consequence, what they are attracting.
Over time Aries learns that who I am determines what I create.
We all have
Aries energy in our birth chart. So while the Sun is in Aries,
we have a chance to take our Aries lessons seriously. The ultimate
Aries goal is to align our personality with our soul. Achieving
soul identity is a lifelong pursuit. A major turning point in
our lives occurs when we decide to consciously focus in the
direction of our soul. Committing our life to discovering our
soul and to aligning our personality with our soul makes our
journey through the rest of the zodiac much more purposeful
and meaningful.
WAKING
UP ARIES
Things seem
to just happen to the asleep Ram. This is because its decisions
are unconscious. As Aries wakes up, it realizes that only through
conscious decision-making can it choreograph its own personal
dance. Aries moves out ofvictimhood as it takes responsibility
for directing its own movie. While the
Sun is in Aries, we are all supported in moving into the director's
chair of our life's movie.
Aries makes
sure we know from the beginning that our lives will always be
filled with challenges. Our task is not to try to eliminate
the challenges. Our task is to devise a reasonable and responsible
approach to living a fulfilling life as situations and opportunities
unfold. In the Aries world every challenge is a chance to learn
more about how to navigate the soul's human journey. Aries teaches
us to focus on ourselves, so we don't get entangled in other
people's dramas. Aries teaches how to establish our unique identity
so we can accurately define our needs and make wise decisions
to get our needs met. When we know who we are, what we want
and what works for us, we can be in relationships without getting
lost, or resorting to being unavailable as a substitute for
defining and
communicating boundaries.
The most
important thing we can learn from Aries is how to be in harmony
with ourselves. How can we think clearly for ourselves? How
can we simply be who we are? How can we feel complete and satisfied
in our own skin? Pursuing the path of self-knowledge is the
Aries direct path to the Divine. When we are in harmony with
ourselves, we are in harmony with the universe.
ARIES
IDENTITY EXERCISE SET
While the
Sun is in Aries, commit to establishing an energetic sense of
your identity in your own skin. Nabyi Kriya (*1) is a great
Kundalini yoga set to cultivate this full-body sensory awareness.
This set
helps us establish our identity in our body. It works on the
first three chakras. The first three chakras make it possible
to establish and maintain our personal identity. The upper chakras,
on the other hand, deal with impersonal energies.(*2) Aligning
the first chakra at the base of the spine, we
establish a conscious connection with the Earth and our body.
We feel safe being in our body on Planet Earth. Our goal for
the second chakra is to relax and let go. When the second chakra
is rhythmic, we feel full and satisfied. The third chakra is
our power center. We must feel a pulse at the navel. When we
do, we feel empowered because we actually have the centered
energy to accomplish our goals.
While practicing
this set, focus on yourself and your inner fire. Get in touch
with the energy that makes it possible to move and be alive.
Be aware of the energies at the base of the spine, in the spine,
in the whole abdominal region and then right at the navel center.
No stories please. One great thing about
the lower chakras is that we can get out of our heads and be
in the now. Tune into and experience non-verbal sensations and
use them to establish an energetic definition of your presence/identity.
Do this set every morning for 40 days and see what happens in
your life. I bet you will notice something significant has happened.
Write and let me know.
Here's to
YOU and ME!

MY GOAL AS AN ARTIST IS TO ACHIEVE, AS BEST I CAN, A MYSTICAL
UNION WITH MYSELF, MY CANVAS AND THE SUBJECT. THIS UNION IS
NOT AN INTELLECTUAL ENTERPRISE BUT RATHER AN EMOTIONAL AND SPIRITUAL
CONNECTION. THE EXERCISE OF MY PAINTINGS IS TO ATTEMPT AN EMBRACE
OF THE VIBRATIONS OF A HIGHER REALITY WHICH FLOWS AND PULSATES
THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE. EVERY LIFE AND EVERYTHING IN
THE COSMOS REFLECTS THIS ENERGY SOURCE THAT I ATTEMPT TO TAP
INTO WITH MY PAINTINGS. MY PAINTINGS ARE AN ATTEMPT TO TAKE
THE SUBJECT MATTER, EVEN IF THE SUBJECT IS ORDINARY, AND TO
EXALT IT AS BEST I CAN. THE RESULT OF WHICH, I HOPE, IS TO ACHIEVE
AN INNER ILLUMINATION; RADIANT, RHYTHMIC AND RAPTUROUS. I WISH
NOT TO POSSESS OR TO CRITICIZE THE SUBJECT MATTER BUT RATHER
TO BEHOLD THE BEAUTY AND POWER WITHIN THE FRAME OF THE PICTURE.
PART TO PART, PART TO WHOLE, WHOLE TO PART PENETRATING THROUGH
TO THE SUBJECT MATTERS' ESSENTIAL BRILLIANCE, ALLOWING THE VIEWER
TO PARTICIPATE IN ITS SYMMETRY. THE RESULT IS TO PERMIT AN INNER
ILLUMINATION WHICH EXPRESSES A WISDOM SO PENETRATING AND SO
PROFOUND THAT IT IS BEYOND THE REACH OF REASON.
MY
PAINTINGS WILL INCORPORATE NOT ONLY THE POSITIVE ASPECTS OF
THIS WORLD BUT ALSO THE SUBLIME AND POSSIBLY HORRIFIC AS WELL.
FOR WHAT IS ASSURED IS THAT ALL OF REALITY MUST BE EXPOSED TO
THE CANVAS. IT IS NOT MY JUDGMENT THAT IS SOUGHT BUT RATHER
THE EXPOSITION OF WHAT MY SOUL DICTATES. THE PEAK EXPERIENCE
IS TO BEHOLD AN OBJECT, SEEING IT AS ONE THING BUT ALLOWING
THE FORTUNATE RHYTHM OF ITS ESSENCE TO EXPLODE THROUGH TO THE
CANVAS. THIS EXPERIENCE REFLECTS A FUNDAMENTAL CHARACTERISTIC
OF A MYSTICAL MOMENT, WHICH TRUE ART CAN PRODUCE. IT IS THE
HUMAN SPIRIT CONNECTING WITH THIS DIVINE HIGHER REALITY IN A
MUTUAL AND RECIPROCAL CORRESPONDENCE. AN EVEREST OF AN AESTHETIC
MOMENT, FULL OF FORM AND COMPETENCE, A METAPHOR FOR THE SUBJECTS
INFINITE BEAUTY, POETIC SPACE AND ETERNAL ENERGY. THE PAINTINGS
REALITY IS INDELIBLY STAMPED ON THE VIEWER'S CONSCIOUSNESS.
THE PAINTING MOVES THE VIEWER'S HEART AND SOUL TO SHARE A MORE
DEEPENED, PROFOUND EXISTENCE, A PILGRIM'S RETURN HOME, AN ADVENTUROUS
JOURNEY OR A SOJOURN INTO THE UNKNOWN.
THROUGH
MY ART I ENDEAVOR TO SEEK A HIGHER GROUND TO VIEW A LARGER PICTURE
OF EXISTENCE, TO SEEK THE INNER LIGHT WHICH ILLUMINATES THE
PATHWAY TO A HIGHER POWER. DISTINCTIONS WILL BE LOST, THEY WILL
DISAPPEAR, THE MACRO AND THE MICRO WILL BE VIEWED AS ONE AND
HOPEFULLY AN ENLIGHTENMENT WILL RESULT. FOLLOW THE STREAM OF
MY ART'S CONSCIOUSNESS WHICH SPILLS WITH PRODIGIOUS COLORS ONTO
MY CANVAS, MIRRORING THE SUBLIME, INVITING AN EPIPHANY TO BE
ATTAINED. I HOPE YOU THE VIEWER WILL TRAVEL YOUR OWN PERSONAL
QUEST FOR ENCHANTMENT AND FIND ENJOYMENT WITH MY HUMBLE UNDERTAKINGS.
WITH THE LENDING OF MY SIGNATURE TO THE CANVAS I HOPE TO INVITE
AND TO INCARNATE THE PAINTINGS ENERGY WITH IMMORTALITY.

JOEY

For The Moment - Insight
#63 - The Future

In every
moment there is a now. To wait to do is to wait now. To move
to do is to do now.
Everything is as it should be.
What the

Your Monthly Australian Animal
What's your message this month for your
sign?
This month's readings are by Dekora
|
|
Aries (March 21 - April 19) - Whale
 |
Sometimes
we tend to get caught up in memories from the past.
Especially when we have been hurt and don't want to
let go of that pain. Whale teaches us to remember,
but to move on from those experiences, to release
the attachment to these painful emotions, so that
it does not affect our current life. It is time Aries,
to let go of your past hurts and pains, allow yourself
to trust and be vulnerable again, don't let the old
hurts destroy the promise of the present moment. |
|
Libra (Sept. 23 - Oct. 22) : Turtle
 |
Turtle is urging you, Libra, to get outdoors and
into nature. Take the time to commune with Mother
Earth and feel your connection to all around you.
Cherish the changing of the seasons and give gratitude
for the changes that are now coming into your life.
Know that all happens when it is supposed to and
this is just a natural part of the cycle. It is
time to also look at your own intentions and energies
- put out only what you want to receive..
|
|
Taurus (April 20 - May 20) : Bat
|
Taurus,
Bat is encouraging you to look at the things that
you are still attached to in your past. Something
may be holding you back from the new opportunities
that are coming your way. Don't be afraid to let change
into your life and to let go of what you don't need.
If you aren't already, make the time to get in some
meditation so that you can connect with your guides
and hear the wisdom that they have to impart. |
|
Scorpio (Oct. 23 - Nov. 21) : Raven
|
It
is time to allow the mystical and magical side of
life into your world Scorpio. Take time to connect
with the energies around you, to partake in ritual
and other mystical practices that you are interested
in. Allow the magic of life to flow through you. If
you are seeking answers, they are right before you,
look out and see them. They may not be exactly what
you are looking for, but they are there, and you only
need to open yourself up to receiving them. |
|
Gemini (May 21 - June 20) : Platypus
|
Take
time to honour your alone-time this month Gemini.
Don't let too many people get the better of you, and
be sure not to over-commit yourself to events and
other people's demands, do only what you have the
energy for - you may need to disappoint someone, but
it will be better than allowing yourself to fall ill
from over-extending yourself. This month would be
good for you to do some introspection, get in touch
with what you really want in your life, and work toward
it. |
|
Sagittarius (Nov. 22 - Dec. 21) : Owl
|
This
is a good month for Capricorn to cultivate psychic
powers and intuition. Work with the wisdom of silence
through meditation and other means to gain access
to your inner wisdom and the words of Spirit. You
may receive several messages or visions this month
which will help you to make decisions along your path,
pay attention and trust your intuition. Be aware of
the energy shifts going on around you and allow the
messages to come to you.. |
|
Cancer
(June
21 - July 22) : Falcon
|
Cancer,
you are about to receive some important news or information,
pay attention! The Falcon urges you to look for the
messages he is sending your way and to listen to all
the intuition you receive. Welcome the news that is
coming your way because Spirit has sent it and you
are being presented with an opportunity for learning.
Take time this month to meditate, or do whatever you
usually do to connect with your inner self and wisdom,
so that you may clearly hear the messages coming your
way. |
|
Capricorn
(Dec.
22 - Jan. 19) : Dog
|
You
may find that the loyalty of a friend may be tested
this month. Or that you own loyalty to a person
or situation is going to be challenged. You must
remember that you are your own "master"
in life, and no one can make you feel inferior without
your permission. Stand strong, tall, and proud and
be true to yourself. If a friend comes to you for
help this month, do what you can to help them out
for you may be the only person they can turn to,
but do not allow them to take advantage, know your
limits.
|
|
Leo
(July
23 - August 22) : Dingo
|
What
are your intentions this month Leo? Are you coming
from a place of respect and honour for those around
you? Dingo brings with him an element of deception,
this could be caused by you, or you may be caught
up in the deception of others. Be sure that you
are not buying into your own self delusions - pay
attention, examine your motives, and make sure it
is not you who is being less than honest. Bring
yourself to a place of respect and honour..
|
|
Aquarius
(Jan.
20 - Feb. 18) : Dolphin
|
Aquarius,
this is the month to get in touch with your inner
self! The Dolphin is a perfect example of "going
with the flow" as it flows with the currents
of the ocean, not resisting, but dancing with it and
taking joy in all life. You are being encouraged to
stop fighting, stop resisting the flow. Instead, embrace
the will of the Universe and allow yourself to be
divinely guided through your own intuition to the
path that is best for you and bring yourself back
to unconditional love. |
|
Virgo
(August
23 - Sept. 22) : Dugong
|
Virgo,
Dugong is the keeper of secrets and ancient knowledge.
We all hold within us knowledge from the past, from
ancient past even, and this month you are encouraged
to share your wisdom with others. Do not be afraid
to follow your truth and speak it. Be gentle with
those around you this month and make sure your life
is in balance so that you do not become ill. |
|
Pisces
(Feb.
19 - March 20) : Lizard
|
Lizard
is an interesting little guy! First he is the king
of letting go of that which no longer serves him -
this is seen in the little lizards that will drop
their tail if they are captured by a predator. Whatever
they release can be regained later if it is necessary,
they do not hold on to useless baggage. This month
take a look at what you need to release Pisces, and
hold on only to that which serves your highest good..
