Adapting to the New Energy
By Mike Yadon & SkunkApe

The quandary of being born again or graduating to the level of conscious creator is one of adapting to the new energy. Before Karma died for those of us who were ready, we ambled along by the flow of the wind and we pushed against it most of the time. There were lessons to be learned. There was an order to the madness. Now we sit on the edge of the universe and stare down at creation and we wonder what it is we are supposed to be doing. What it is that will lead us now. It is slightly confusing.

You see we used to play whatever game that enabled us to eventually reach some sort of balance. The graduated student, now, knows nothing but balance. When the nervous system gets rewired, upon graduation, anything out of balance will bring about much anguish. That is why
the old guard dies when we graduate. There is no running and no hiding anymore. Whatever we used to put energy into for passage of time in order to endure all the pain we were feeling or to keep our minds off of our issues, we can no longer cling to. Why? Because they are not necessary anymore.

So if you are feeling confused lately, you are not alone. Take your time. Take it slow. You have the rest of your lives to adapt to the new energy. If you find yourselves clinging to those things which used to comfort you in times of old, ask yourselves whether they are bringing joy or whether they are just helping you to endure the passage of time. If they are not bringing you joy then follow your hearts to that which will bring you joy. This will most likely bring
about radical change in your life. Go with it. Clinging to previous agreements will only bring about pain.

There are still remnants of the old guard. Those remnants are the agreements you might have with another about who you are and who others think you are. There might be a friend whom you act a certain way around or a family member with whom you cannot be assertive. This
pertains to people who knew you before graduation; friends and family. This might be the last remnant of the old energy left within you. Some of these agreements will be very hard to break. I only ask that you love the old agreement and let it go. It will not serve you any longer in this new energy. The old agreement was in place because it was who you were. You were insecure or fearful. You felt that it was easier for you and the other person if you acted in such a way.
Acting will not serve you any longer. It will only knock you back into randomness.

That is all for today.

Jealousy
By Carrie Hart & Quado

Today’s message is in answer to a reader’s question. The question is:

I have a very strong jealous streak. Sometimes I get so jealous that I feel sick to my stomach and can’t eat or drink. I have been with my present partner for almost 9 months and we are living together. He is a great person and we love each other very much. But whenever there is another attractive woman around, I freeze and my jealousy takes over. If my partner looks at another woman or sees an attractive woman on TV, I get very upset with him and stop talking to him for hours. I have told him that it upsets me when he stares at other women. I told him that it does not make me feel good about myself. I don’t want to have to confront him all the time as I fear it might have a negative impact on this relationship. And yes, often I feel so stupid about being jealous for nothing. I want to be healthy in my mind and soul. These feelings I get are so negative and horrible. What can I do? Is it a self esteem issue? Do I need to build my self love in order to overcome this?

Quado, do you have an answer to this question?

Ah, yes, of course, of course.

You have answered your own questions. Yes, you must overcome this or it will undermine your relationships, this one and the ones to follow. And yes, of course, it stems from your own lack of love for yourself, your own inability to understand how wonderful you are, how perfect you are in the eyes and heart of the universe.

All love must flow first through you. All love stems from the boundless, endless love of the universe and flows first through you before it can reach out to others. You must love yourself first, embrace yourself just as you are, with all of your so-called faults and imperfections, and recognize these as being exactly right. For they are. You are. You are exactly who and what you need to be in order to be just where you are, learning what you are learning, poised to take the next step on your wonderful journey, this great adventure called life.

And so, you have now begun a profound change. The change began the moment you asked the questions, the moment you asked for help, the moment you began to realize that this disease inside you is of your own making. The moment that you did this, the moment that you took responsibility for it rather than continuing to blame others, you began the process of gaining control over it. You are halfway there already.

So begin here, with taking full responsibility for this. Do not blame your partner for what he does, or anyone else in your past, including yourself. Today, right now, this moment, you are fully and completely responsiblie for your life. And the good news about this is that you can change. Yes, you have in fact already begun. Now that you are recognizing that this is something inside you, you can begin the process of changing, encourage it within yourself and become the person you are capable of being and desire being. How fortune you are. And it all begins with responsibility, with ownership of your own feeling, and actions.

You will need to find ways to calm yourself. You have now recognized that you have an emotional response within you which is undermining what you wish to do with life. And although not everyone has jealousy as this emotional button, everyone has emotional buttons. But just because your past and your past attitudes caused something to become an emotional trigger to you, does not mean that you need to allow it to rule your life now. With diligence practice, you can learn to calm down your response and gain control over your mind and your emotions, so that you are actually responding as you wish to respond to life instead of being a walking time bomb, just waiting for someone or something to set you off.

It begins with taking even just a few minutes each morning, finding a quiet spot and breathing yourself down to a relaxing place. You may use music. You may use silence. You may be indoors or out. You may sit or you may lie down. It does not matter. Just close your eyes and breathe. If you are very tense you may find it useful to count silently down from ten to one as you breathe. Breathe in, ten, ten, ten and out ten, ten, ten. And so on, counting silently to yourself until you reach one.

And when you reach one, picture a tranquil scene, such as a lake with a bird flying gently overhead. Spend some time with this image, for it will help you later. If you cannot visualize easily, and are more triggered by feel, then touch yourself in a specific way, such as putting your hand over your heart or, less obviously, by putting a thumb and middle finger together. Something to trigger your body and mind that you are relaxed and calm.

And now, when you are in this relaxed state, say an appropriate affirmation. In your case, you might say: "I love and approve of myself. I am beautiful.” Then breathe deeply again, let the calm and beauty of life flood through you. Spend as much time or as little as you care to in this exercise. You might expand on this little daily ritual by looking at something beautiful before you close your eyes and breathe down. It is your little ritual and you may develop it in any way you wish.

The object is this. Later, when you are under stress and in the circumstances which trigger your emotional button, train yourself to respond in a calm way. Police your mind and body, waiting and watching for the unwanted emotions to surface. And when they do, instantly go on the alert. Take a deep breath, use your physical cue, your finger or hand position, and your mental cue, the tranquil scene you have visualized that morning. And then say your affirmation silently to yourself. “I love and approve of myself. I am beautiful.” Keep breathing deeply until the emotions have subsided.

And then congratulate yourself for winning this little skirmish and promise yourself to stay vigilant and on guard.

If you follow your ritual daily, it will build in strength. It will get stronger and stronger until you can quickly and easily conquer your negative feelings. But at first, if you occasionally lose the struggle, just forgive yourself and continue. You may lose an occasional battle, but you can and will prevail in the end.

Just take full responsibility for becoming the person you want to be, and you can do it.

Loving yourself is best done through action, by doing wonderful things for yourself. Show yourself that you love yourself by applying the disciplines which will take you where you want to go, which will lead you to the places where you can best shine out in goodness and beauty.

Be good to yourself. Give yourself the gift of daily discipline. The gift of a calm and loving self. Practice your ritual every day, without fail. If you only have a few minutes, then shorten the exercise, count down from five to one instead of ten to one or eliminate the counting altogether. But do it. Every day. You will win. It is vitally important and you can do it.

For after all, you must love yourself. You must love yourself because you are one with all. You are everything. You are connected to all that is. And if you love yourself, you love the world. If you change yourself, if you heal yourself, you heal the world. For all is one.

Letting Go - In My Own Words!
By Ashleigh Stewart

What do we mean in healing when we talk about ‘letting go’? Everywhere we turn to get some help in healing, all we hear is people preaching to us "you must let it go!" This probably sounds like a very nice idea to the person who seeks guidance and I do agree with whomever it is that is preaching this statement, but to the person who is the one in need of healing, just what on earth does it really mean?

The majority of us have are likely to have already spent much our lives denying, suppressing or perhaps not even acknowledging the fact that we do have issues which are causing us problems. Many of these problems are likely to have risen from the experiences we have passed through in life until now because they haven’t been handled properly and understood well.

If we were to suggest ‘letting go’ of the experience as a means of healing to any person, what do you think they will perceive that to mean? In my opinion, the meaning of letting go in their eyes is likely to reflect just the way that their life and experiences have been handled in the first place! By applying ignorance, denial and by simply not acknowledging what is actually going on by choosing to forget about it and turn a blind eye on their situation. You know what they say after all, ignorance is bliss!!

When we talk about what it means to ‘let go’ of an experience, what does that mean to you? Personally, my first perception of this was "let go, does that mean to ignore my experiences or to simply forget about them and they will go away?" Does ‘letting go’ mean to simply forget about whatever it was or what is causing the problem in our life? In reality no it doesn’t. However, as I mentioned before, to the average person who has spent most of their life ignoring their issues, this theory of ‘letting go’ most probably seems like a great and easy way to get out of handling their problems head on.

So let’s get this straight, just what is this ‘letting go’? To be honest, I have heard from so many sources that "letting go is the answer", but nobody ever seems to explain what it really means very well. They claim that this is the solution we are all looking for to help us heal ourselves from the burden of our experiences. My question is how can this be when ‘letting go’ can be so easily confused with ignorance. Was it not by us being ignorant to the real purpose and essence of our experiences that we landed up in the mess of confusion in life in the first place? Think about it!

Now, I want you to think for a moment about what your own idea of ‘letting go’ means. Think of it well and hold it in your mind for now. I will now go on to explain what I have personally come to understand in my own experience from applying this theory of ‘letting go’ in my life. Try to see how it compares with your ideas.

When doing this, remember that in reality we do all understand and perceive life according to our own individual maturation and evolution according to the experiences we have passed through in life. Do not feel ever feel bad, guilty, or punish yourself in any way if you realize that you are one of these people who thought ‘letting go’ meant taking the easy way out of handling an experience, because, guess what, I did too and that is why I am writing this article today!! I would not have been able to understand my own theory had I not experienced it for myself, so there you go!!

Learning about what ‘letting go’ really means and actually being able to apply it in your life is a process which requires your complete awareness. This process must be approached gracefully and with your full patience in order for it to work. The first secret to ‘letting go’ is acceptance. You must be able to fully accept the circumstances which do or have surrounded you in your life. Unquestionably!

Acceptance is aided by understanding, by understanding that life itself is a process. Although you might feel that the circumstances you are handling in life either at the moment or in terms of your past are not appropriate to how you truly desire to be living in life, you must accept that your life path must be allowed to follow the process toward making a shift in order that changes can occur and this can take time.

You see, as soon as you make the decision to begin healing yourself, you are giving your soul, your guides or the universe or whatever term you like, the green light to go ahead and bring forth the experiences that are necessary in order to encourage your healing, thus changing your life in the process. This is an extremely simple explanation of the whole process but it is enough for you to hear to give you a push do what you have to do. As long as you are working on yourself with a good intention, then all you require in terms of assistance will be provided to you.

It is so often said that the truth reveals itself in layers. Well, this is true and it is not only true in cases of us having spiritual teachings and hearing big fancy words of enlightenment! The reason I say this because this is what we so often associate ‘so called’ spirituality with. That is, ‘spirituality’ in our eyes being ‘fluffy’ words of truth, love, light and wisdom! Well, let me shed some light on that for those of you who think you can earn your wisdom and enlightenment from attending classes, seminars, workshops and lectures about spirituality. You are mistaken! I am sure you will learn many great things there however, the results of that will surely be temporary!

If you really want to become an enlightened human being then you only have to go inward, and I mean it. Our life circumstances and experiences, yes, the ones that we are all having such difficulty in understanding provide the best workshops we could ever attend and we are our own best teachers. Yet, this is so only if we are able to understand the purpose of having such experiences in the first place!

Seeing Beneath the Illusion
By Carolyn Kaufman, CSC

What amazing times we find ourselves in! This is a time of tremendous shifts and changes. We are even changing physically, down to our DNA. It is very common right now on a personal level to feel very heavy and full of intense emotions. We are in a time of incredible planetary transformation: a time of empowerment, coming into one's own power! This is an essential time to awaken to your full potential as you remember and radiate the brilliant light that you truly are. There are moments in these times that it may feel as though it takes everything one knows how to do to stay in balance. One tool that is very helpful is to stay in the present moment. When you find yourself in the pain, sadness, or anger of the past, or in fear of the future, you need to simply bring yourself back to the present moment. The key is to release all judgment. As we release the judgment we free ourselves to come back to the present moment. And we needn't punish ourselves for being out of the moment; simply come back.

It is time to look beneath the illusions, to see beyond what is being presented to us. Feel within our heart for the truth, rather than in our head and follow wherever our heart may lead us.

I know that this is a time of many fleeting feelings. I ask you to look deep within your own heart to search for the truth! That is where it lies, go beneath your fears to seek out the truth, and then walk forward tall and proud with this truth. It is time for us to step fully into our own power. We have been called to do this for some time now. We have been preparing for this time through all of our clearing, releasing, and healing. So let's hold hands as we step forward and accept our power. Let's hold hands as, together, we shine our light to it's full potential. It is time to release the events of the past and of our past actions and beliefs, search your heart now as it stands and be who you are Now!

Allow the layers to shed, as you come face to face with your shadows. Give any resistance you are feeling over to the Divine as you remember your truth. Allow any feelings that have been buried to arise, so you may clear them. As you do this, you clear the blocks that are serving as obstacles for you to step forward. Let's work together to help each other in all the areas needed for us to move forward. Let's release judgment and work together seeing beneath the illusion of separation. We all offer different tools for the process of clearing/releasing and healing, not one better than another, just different. The time has come for us to come together and share these tools for the highest good of all involved. Letting go of any old mistakes in thinking of competition, insecurity, lack and/or fear.

We can affirm that we are willing to release anything that no longer serves our highest good, and that we are willing to receive this Divine Healing now with Gratitude and then breath in and out, fully releasing and accepting! Now we may move forward with more ease. It is time to have compassion and forgive the mistakes in thinking and in actions of others, and ourselves let go of judgment so we can be free to move forward. And here we go, we are on our way! Feel your heart open and expand, ready and willing to accept love to the fullest. Ready and willing to accept your Divine Power, Strength, Beauty, Healing, and Abundance! Make the choice now to Surrender to your Divine Essence, choose to allow your Divine Presence to come forth fully Now! Let us all choose this together. Let us join our hands as we make this choice together and shine our light as it goes out in multitudes! Let this be the answer to all that we see and feel right now.

 Movie Alert: Big Fish
[alert first published 12/19/03]
By Stephen Simon

[now available on video - click here & buy it now!]

Hi Everyone:

This is my favorite movie time of the year because the studios "backload" all their adult-oriented films into the last 60 days of the year to qualify for Academy Awards. As a voting member of the Academy, I get DVD/VHS copies of films to watch at home--and almost 30 of them have arrived just in the last 10 days. As all 4 of my daughters have made me a very happy dad indeed by being home for Christmas, we're having a movie marathon over the next couple of weeks. As is my custom, I'm only going to send out Movie Alerts on films that I really enjoy and can heartily recommend...starting today with:

BIG FISH

Haven't heard of it yet? You will. It's the latest film from the brilliantly creative mind of director Tim Burton who has become known for brilliant but dark films such as the original BATMAN and EDWARD SCISSORHANDS.....in BIG FISH, however, Burton's visual storytelling genius is directed at the lyrical, bizarre, charming, baffling, and ultimately life-affirming story of a great verbal storyteller.

Albert Finney plays the older version (with Ewan McGregor his younger self) of a traveling salesman of sorts named Edward Bloom who regales his wife, his son, and all who listen to him with wild tales of his life on the road. As a child, his son is enthralled with his Dad's amazing adventures but, as he grows up, he becomes convinced that his old man is "full of the blarney" and they become estranged until his father is dying. At that point, he asks his Dad to tell him the "truth" of his life and most of the film reflects that tale--which is, in many ways, wilder than the old stories!

To go any farther with the plot here would be foolish and counterproductive because the film itself plays out in a nonlinear fashion that seems, as it goes along, to be more of a fable of our very existence in life as anything else. Metaphors and tantalizing moments about our own humanity are much more important here than a standard plot. For instance, one of the experiences that our main character encounters as a child revolves around a "witch" with a glass eye, in whose reflection one is "allowed" to see into the future to the moment of one's death. Most people are terrified but young Edward calmly asks to see his fate, after which he serenely exclaims" OH, that's how I go". He explains his calm response by telling us that he now knows that he will survive everything else that happens to him before that moment of death so he can through life in a much calmer and more confident manner. Which brings up a great audience question: if you could know the moment of your own death, would you want to know?

BIG FISH is a movie about perception...how we perceive ourselves and the reality which we create every day...it is a movie about "telling a story enough times that we become the story," which is again a fascinating metaphor for creating the reality of our own lives. The title refers both to being a big fish in a little pond and also to the great "apocryphal" stories about catching--in this case actually BECOMING-- the big fish "that got away." If that sounds a bit paradoxical, it is indeed meant to be so because BIG FISH is a strange and unique movie with a rhythm all its own and, as such, it is certainly not a mass-market film that everyone will enjoy. I watched the film with 2 of my daughters--my 23 year old loved it and my 28 year walked away halfway through. It's that kind of film--I sense that people will either love it or loathe it and, for me, that's what separates great art in film from the run-of-the-mill fare we usually get from the studios. If you are interested in immersing yourself in the gentle, loving, fascinating and elliptical world of a genius filmmaker, I believe you may walk away enchanted and enthralled. I did.

With affection and gratitude.

Astrological Influences for May

The following information is provided by the Jeff Jawar and the New Moon Report. Please see the end of the article for a link to his wonderful website!

Jupiter sextile Saturn
Saturday, May 1

Planetary giants Jupiter and Saturn rule expansion and contraction,
respectively. This 60-degree angle harmoniously combines hope and vision
with commitment and concrete planning. Good judgment about career,
education and long-range goals is enhanced, as is a more realistic
understanding of one's religious, political and philosophical beliefs.
Full Moon in Scorpio
Tuesday, May 4, 1:34 pm PDT

This Full Moon is a total lunar eclipse, one that brings up deep emotional
issues from the past so that we may be free of them in the future.
Diffusive Neptune square the Sun and Moon further expands feelings,
leading to exaggeration, misdirection and overwhelm. Forgiving yourself
and others helps you find the way from an old wound to a new healing,
untying knots that block fulfillment, especially in relationships.

Expansive Jupiter, somewhat restrained in tight-fitting Virgo, begins to
find more external expression as it moves forward in the zodiac. Plans
bubbling on the inside (or in the unconscious) move towards the surface
where we can start to put them into action.
Mars in Cancer Friday, May 14, 1:46 am PDT
Warrior Mars turns tender and defensive in this protective water sign. Its
highest potential now is to turn violence and anger into constructive
behavior. However, an excessive sense of woundedness makes it easy to
build barriers against enemies, real and imagined. Mars always functions
best when its purpose is to create something new as a hero, rather than
hang onto something old as a victim.

Mercury in Taurus
Saturday, May 15, 11:55 pm PDT

Thought fragments and incomplete connections of the past six weeks can
start to coalesce now. Mercury in earthy Taurus offers a simple,
constructive perspective that's amenable to peace, as long as minds remain
flexible. If you keep repeating the same words in your head, consider
changing them to avoid falling into a rut. .
Neptune Retrograde
Monday, May 17
The inward turn of Neptune is a very subtle event whose influence is hard
to see. In principle, it's about finding faith within as opposed to
looking for inspiration from the outside.
Venus Retrograde
Monday, May 17, 3:21 pm PDT
Every 18 months this planet of love, pleasure and self-worth spends
6-weeks moving backwards. This is a time to reevaluate partnerships,
reexamine personal resources and rediscover beauty in our lives. Memories
of old lovers and joys from the past stir the heart to reacquire similar
delights in the future.

It's quite unusual to have the New Moon in the same sign two months in a row. The previous New Moon in Aries represented the opening of the astrological year, a fresh period of discoveries, both positive and negative. This New Moon, in the 29th degree of the sign, is like the worn out Aries, wounded from past battles and uncertain whether the fight can be sustained. As a lunar eclipse, as well, this marks a significant turning point personally and collectively. We reconsider the investments of energy made in recent projects and need to decide whether to cut our losses or recommit to the struggle.

Because Jeff sends these out during the New Moon, the rest of the month isn't revealed until later, so I will email the rest to the Newsletter's mailing list when I get it.

Scorpio Total Lunar Eclipse: Look in the Mirror to See Yourself Here and Now
By Barbara Shere

The astrological feature this month is the Scorpio Total Lunar Eclipse on May 4th. It activates the polarity of Taurus and Scorpio, in a unique manner for you based upon wherever it falls in your natal chart. Out with the old and in with the new will be the theme for all of us. If you are not sure of what arena of your life that you will feel the effect, your birth chart provides the clues. The area of your birth chart will be highlighted by this Lunar Eclipse is best explained by an astrologer. The second best method to gain an understanding of the influences is to read the information provided for your Sun Sign and Ascendant later in this article.

Eclipses amplify the human experience of cosmic influences, so this Scorpio Full Moon is more than most in terms of concentration and intensity. Astrologers believe that each year when the Scorpio Full Moon occurs will generally be the most emotionally intense time of the entire year. The Moon in Scorpio exaggerates the primal reactions, causes releases, and stirs up unconscious material bringing revelations, especially regarding attachments and needs, and the prospect of separating or uniting with others.

Attachments, desires, needs, and hunger for power come up in an overstated manner. Commitments and contracts are an important part of evaluating what works in current relationships.

Taurus and Scorpio as a polarity in the zodiac are the archetypes that bring us an acute awareness of the many ways we are dependent upon human interaction for personal and spiritual growth. We experience the way in which we show up in loving relationships and intimate affairs, in contrast to the misuse of power that often occurs as a product of ego. We become more aware of any of the limiting conditions that can block our sense of wholeness. As you move through each day, remember that relationships mirror those aspects of ourselves that we are attempting to resolve in the process of being fully accountable, self aware, and on the journey we all take toward the experience of wholeness.

Taurus, the second sign of the zodiac, is the sign of developing stability in the physical/material world. It seeks to be self-sufficient and secure, having a value, instincts, and desire for fulfillment in the physical/material world. Taurus identifies resources, and in a determined and persistent manner, builds preserves and establishes stability, according to an inner value system.

Scorpio, more than any other sign of the zodiac, symbolizes the process of merging and gaining from the exchange of energy with others and in all aspects of exchange in life at large. Ego death is a part of the process of fusing. On a spiritual level we surrender to the higher powers that govern our universe. It takes trust on an emotional and financial level to share material and psychological resources. As well, joining together will naturally activate life lessons causing us to evaluate what patterns have an impact on successful outcomes in our primary relationships.

On the same day as the Scorpio Lunar Eclipse, Jupiter turns direct in Virgo bringing a turning point, especially for Sagittarius and Virgo people. Opportunities previously on hold can show signs of forward motion. Making more definite plans and further exploration of your direction will occupy your attention throughout the first week of May.

More important for everyone is the cycle of Venus and Mars, the two planets that have the job of teaching us how to be intimate and win in our love life. Venus and Mars are in Gemini but shortly after, on May 8th, Mars will enter Cancer asking for more security and increasing awareness of what you feel and what other people feel and greater concern about what actions will have what impact upon one?s emotional life. Following the cycles of Venus and Mars reveals the stages of personal growth most directly connected with intimacy and fulfillment available in personal relationships.

Venus will have an extended stay in Gemini as she has a retrograde cycle from mid-May to the end of June. Neptune begins a long retrograde cycle on the same day, increasing the spiritual reference points for defining personal growth in terms of our relationships. Retrograde Venus only occurs approximately every two years, and is retrograde for six weeks. Therefore, it is the planet having the least amount of time in a retrograde phase. Like any retrograde phase, there is discord with the life force demonstrated by the always direct experience of the Sun and the Moon. As well, Venus retrograde, as any planet?s retrograde phase, represents a time to go inward to review what has occurred in the past. With Venus, the ruler of Taurus and Libra, the subject of concern will be love and money. Often retrograde phases involve discovering what was previously unconscious, or a reaction out of unconscious motivations.

During a retrograde phase of Venus, it does not serve to try to jump ahead or to resolve the future concerning love, relationships, and money.

There may be a necessity to relive the past in some way in order to understand the karma and to liberate oneself from limiting patterns. The limiting patterns may be the result of the nature of a particular relationship. Karma to clear can be identified as originating within each individual, or in some cases, the product of two people or more combined.

Evolution always begins by using your relationships as mirrors in order to define what it is about you that attracted these particular people, patterns and experiences into your life. Being that Venus is in Gemini the process that each person goes through will be very much about sorting out the sources of information that dictate decisions, especially in reflection of recent occurrences. Give up agreeing with others for approval. Think again with the intention to align with what is best for you. The emphasis on communication, including deeper, rarely revealed feelings, will show up in many relationships.

With Venus in Gemini the search for information and understanding will continue to be prominent throughout the months of May and June. The value is placed upon on clear thinking, mental discipline, and communication, to establish an understanding about conflict resolution, especially if emotions run high or obstacles have prevented constructive outcomes.

Relationships promote many questions, conversations, and curiosities to arise. In the context of some circumstances people become more withdrawn from outside influences when Venus is retrograde. The objective is to connect with one?s internal value system rather than go along with social programs or other people?s ideas that are thought to be the method for you to find fulfillment. Suspend immediate decisions to resolve complex situations until you know more. You may need to figure out what is best for you. This can lead to an improvement in the overall function of your current relationship or prepare you to make better choices if you are involved with seeking for your mate.

Venus finally enters Cancer, the sign following Gemini on August 8th, Venus and Mars will not be in the same sign again this year until they have a conjunction in the sign of Scorpio late November 2004. At this point a new cycle begins having an influence on beginning new phases or beginning a new relationship with the potential of long lasting commitments.

Learning our lessons continues as long as you are alive so seize the opportunity to get it and do it so you can get on to the next. This is an ongoing process and this is growth. Immediately after the Taurus New Moon on May 19th, the Moon followed by the Sun enters Gemini. During June there will be oppositions and conjunctions by the Moon between June 2nd and 16th.

Venus turns direct on June 29th, providing many days for reflecting and integrating the new levels of awareness you gain. As the month of May unfolds into June the recognition is that the answers regarding what is currently best for you are found within.

Put this concept into practice on a daily basis: Other people are mirrors of you. If you love or hate something about another person, realize that they reflect something you love or hate about yourself. Also, take this to heart: There comes a time to reap the rewards or pay the dues of all we put into motion. Retrograde Venus is a time to examine yourself for the actions you have taken and the words you have spoken and the results of fulfillment or discontent you now experience.

If you define healing as the intention toward wholeness, include loving as the primary state of consciousness to attain. Unobstructed loving is the outcome of freeing yourself from the illusion of separation and the internal blocks in consciousness that have been handed down through the ages or assumed in this life time. Your spiritual work is essential for attaining this enlightenment.

Planetary healing is the result of the numbers of people that transform their own consciousness and put it into practice. Look in the mirror of life everyday and embrace what you see. Say thank you for bringing me this awareness and learn to love all aspects of yourself even as you choose the ultimate reality you are aiming for. Everything is designed to bring you home to your source and your eternal relationship with God.

IT'S ALL ABOUT ME

An Aries bumper sticker could be "It's all about ME!" If this phrase invokes images of narcissistic egomaniacs, you have tuned into the lower, unconscious manifestation of Aries. However, at higher levels of awareness these words can be a touchstone for self-empowerment and taking full responsibility for our lives.

One of the main lessons our inner Aries has to teach us is to look to ourselves as the cause of all the effects that happen in our lives. Have you ever noticed how many Aries attract one challenging situation after another? Dramas seem to unfold like clockwork in their lives. All these situations give Aries a chance to notice how they are projecting, and as a consequence, what they are attracting. Over time Aries learns that who I am determines what I create.

We all have Aries energy in our birth chart. So while the Sun is in Aries, we have a chance to take our Aries lessons seriously. The ultimate Aries goal is to align our personality with our soul. Achieving soul identity is a lifelong pursuit. A major turning point in our lives occurs when we decide to consciously focus in the direction of our soul. Committing our life to discovering our soul and to aligning our personality with our soul makes our journey through the rest of the zodiac much more purposeful and meaningful.

WAKING UP ARIES

Things seem to just happen to the asleep Ram. This is because its decisions are unconscious. As Aries wakes up, it realizes that only through conscious decision-making can it choreograph its own personal dance. Aries moves out ofvictimhood as it takes responsibility for directing its own movie. While the
Sun is in Aries, we are all supported in moving into the director's chair of our life's movie.

Aries makes sure we know from the beginning that our lives will always be filled with challenges. Our task is not to try to eliminate the challenges. Our task is to devise a reasonable and responsible approach to living a fulfilling life as situations and opportunities unfold. In the Aries world every challenge is a chance to learn more about how to navigate the soul's human journey. Aries teaches us to focus on ourselves, so we don't get entangled in other people's dramas. Aries teaches how to establish our unique identity so we can accurately define our needs and make wise decisions to get our needs met. When we know who we are, what we want and what works for us, we can be in relationships without getting lost, or resorting to being unavailable as a substitute for defining and
communicating boundaries.

The most important thing we can learn from Aries is how to be in harmony with ourselves. How can we think clearly for ourselves? How can we simply be who we are? How can we feel complete and satisfied in our own skin? Pursuing the path of self-knowledge is the Aries direct path to the Divine. When we are in harmony with ourselves, we are in harmony with the universe.

ARIES IDENTITY EXERCISE SET

While the Sun is in Aries, commit to establishing an energetic sense of your identity in your own skin. Nabyi Kriya (*1) is a great Kundalini yoga set to cultivate this full-body sensory awareness.

This set helps us establish our identity in our body. It works on the first three chakras. The first three chakras make it possible to establish and maintain our personal identity. The upper chakras, on the other hand, deal with impersonal energies.(*2) Aligning the first chakra at the base of the spine, we
establish a conscious connection with the Earth and our body. We feel safe being in our body on Planet Earth. Our goal for the second chakra is to relax and let go. When the second chakra is rhythmic, we feel full and satisfied. The third chakra is our power center. We must feel a pulse at the navel. When we do, we feel empowered because we actually have the centered energy to accomplish our goals.

While practicing this set, focus on yourself and your inner fire. Get in touch with the energy that makes it possible to move and be alive. Be aware of the energies at the base of the spine, in the spine, in the whole abdominal region and then right at the navel center. No stories please. One great thing about
the lower chakras is that we can get out of our heads and be in the now. Tune into and experience non-verbal sensations and use them to establish an energetic definition of your presence/identity. Do this set every morning for 40 days and see what happens in your life. I bet you will notice something significant has happened. Write and let me know.

Here's to YOU and ME!
