Nick Panos created a betting scheme named "Lightspeed Investments". Clients invested $20,000 to be involved and were given a series of formula's with which to bet. The formula was based on numbers.
There was also the option to provide sums of money to Nick Panos for him to run through the scheme (without actually purchasing the concept therefore placing your completed trust in this mans hands)
I would say the level of peoples involvement and enthusiasm also attributed to the fact that Nick Panos was in a relationship with Natasha Lakaev at the time.
Having many loyal friends and 'followers' who had experienced, Natasha Lakaev running Life Integration Programmes/Universal knowledge people would of expected to receive the same professionalism and level of integrity. Her credibility would of been what most of these people placed their trust in however, it was not her business, idea or under her management.
Unfortunately Nick Panos had many demons when it came to money and gambling. This would of been a prime example of being able to overcome your vice and use it to yours and others advantage
On the 25th July 1999 Nick Panos went missing, along with thousands of dollars in investors money.
There was a complete search conducted by approximately 100 people, led by Natasha Lakaev (not including the Police) which continued until the 26th September when Nick turned himself in by making a statement at the Wynnum Police station.
During this period of time there were many other things about the life of Nicholas Perry Panos which became very apparent to all of his clientele and his partner.
