Mayan Prophecy

The Maya people appeared on the scene around 2000 B.C., only to mysteriously vanish at the height of their power around 843 A.D. The only real information we have of them is their incredible scientific/astronomical knowledge. The Maya charted the heavens with amazing accuracy. They understood that the Earth was round and were even able to accurately compute the time of eclipses thousands of years into the future. Within the complex and confusing (!) records they kept, exists a calendar of calendars. The Mayan mundane year was 365.242129 days long (extrodinary accuracy!) and these years were grouped into sections of approximately 19 years, then 394 years, then 7,890 years , then 157,808 years, then 3,156,164 years, and finally 1 Alautun, or 63,312,328 years. Can you imagine making these computations without computers or even calculators? How many of our present-day mathemeticians would even want to attempt it?

The main way of defining time was to divide the years into 13 separate periods of time, each 144,000 days long (394 years and 52 days.) These 13 periods total 5,125.4 years. This number is one fifth of the total years of the precession of the equinoxes. Each one of these 5,125.4 year sections equals one world epoch.

Confused? And this is just the tip of the iceberg (but all the math that will concern us for now.) An easier way to understand it would be like this:

*144,000 days=384 years and 52 days

*Thirteen of these periods equals 5,125.4 years

*Five of these 5,125 year periods equals 25,627 years, or the total number of years that it takes for the precession of the equinoxes

With this in mind, you should know that these 5 periods of time were known as separate epochs which the Maya called "suns" or "worlds" (similar to the Hopi story, however we are currently living in the Mayan 5th world, compared to the Hopi 4th world.) Each world ended in a major shakeup, but the time of the completion of the 5 worlds was the most significant. The last time this occured was about 25,000-26,000 years ago, the time period Edgar Cayce had given for the first destructions of Atlantis. It will occur again when the Mayan calendar for our world ends on the winter solstice (Dec. 21st) 2012.

These worlds were further divided up into the "13 Heavens" and "9 Hells" cycles. Due to more weirdness that I won't get into here, the 13 Heavens periods last 676 years and the 9 Hells cycles last 468 years. The beginning of the world's last 9 Hells cycle coincided with the fall of the Aztecs, when the Spanish conquistadors arrived in the 1500's. The beginning of Hell for the native peoples of the Yucatan indeed.

The first day of the final portion of the 9 Hells cycle for our world was August 17, 1987. The day before, many enlightened people gathered in groups around the world for the Harmonic Convergence. This date indicated the beginning of the synchronization between the Earth and the rest of the galaxy, in preparation for the ending of this world. Consider the Harmonic Convergence a giant cosmic wake-up call, the final "get it together NOW" message. The Earth has come into complete galactic synchronization this year (1999) at the half-way point between the Harmonic Convergence and the doom date in 2012. A shift in consciousness was slated to occur during the 1990s, opening minds and hearts to the true nature of their spirituality and to the cycles of time. This is when we are forced to face ourselves for what we really are and what we have become, and face the ONENESS of our world.(Hey, you're reading this, aren't you? It must have worked!)

The final years of the great calendar are similar to the Hopi Great Purification. Whatever and whomever cannot or will not align themselves with the grand cosmic plan (Great Spirit, God, Allah, the Universe, Creator, call it what you will) must pass away before the new world and the new great cycle of time can begin. If this means war, famine, disease and suffering, then that it what will occur. However, if we recognize that we, as human beings on a little blue speck in an infinite universe, are ONE and must live together in peace, a great new world will await us. What will the beginning of this new world look like? Will it be a war-ravaged hellish disaster from which we must recover? Or will we finally have learned our lessons? Assuming you (the reader) and I are still alive (let's hope, huh!) in 2012, we will be here to witness something that only occurs once every 25,627 years: The true beginning of a new world, starting all over with 13 Heavens.
