This story reminded me some of when my DH and I went back to his hometown for his 10th HS reunion. We got there at around 6 AM, stayed outside of town at his pal's house. By the time we got showered, went into town, walked main street and went to visit his Mom, we got yelled at. WHat the hell took us so long to get over to her hosue??? It was about 8AM.
Seems, his pal's dad, who lives across the street from his son, went into work, told his cashier he's seen a strange car at his son's house. Must be us. The cashier told my DH's half-brother when he came into the store for a soda. He called his mom and reported we were there.
News travels fast in a small town.
By 10 AM all we heard was....I heard you were in town.
