During the book I found myself really being able to relate to Linc. I can really understand how some people think that because you don't have a job outside the home that you do not work. They also think that you watch tv all day and that you cannot carry on a conversation about anything else but your children.
I could also relate to Linc's transition from a very career oriented person to someone who values child rearing and the family more. In the beginning it was difficult for me. A lot of my identity was my job and my profession. I actually did not imagine staying home long term. For a while I looked for a job, especially a part-time one. Nothing was worth it. Now I cannot imagine working until all my children are in school and then only part-time.
My favorite thing was when Linc talks about Violet saying the same thing over and over again and how it drives him crazy! I also totally understood what he meant about not having any patience after not getting a break for over a week. I feel like that when Henry has to work a full weekend, which he has to do about once a month.
