What do you think? Was it a symbol of something growing even though it was still rooted in the home (pot)? SOrt of what Linc wanted to be, an exotic (man) in an unfamiliar and inhospitable environment (the home). When the plant is killed, it is like he realizes hat he likes his environment and he is good at it.

Why a Passionflower? Does it represent his sacrifice for his family...like it does the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross to save his people?

We have wild Passion flowers here and they always get these creepy caterpillars that sting (the ones that get on oleanders). They get sweet fruit. I kept waiting for him to have the plant bear fruiit...that it would be a symbol of how sweet his life at hime could be if he wanted it to.
