Archie is trying to get a grant for Glenbogle Adventure Centre. Lexie is helping him choose the right outfit to where as he stands in front of the council and makes his pitch for the grant. Katrina is on the council and says Archie has a sure thing, but much to her amazement, the proposal is rejected. Katrina objects to this, but Edith (the head of the council), threatens her with personal bias on the grants that she wishes to approve. They have all been for Glenbogle. the fact that Archie doesn't see that Katrina stood up for his proposal strains their relationship further as he gets angry and drives off. 
   Golly is still angry about the job and Duncan being Fergal deputy and not his. In turn they both ask Duncan for help, which he wants to please everyone. Fergal ends up giving him a cool peace of machinery as a present for helping him with the owl enclosure. Duncan is stoked. 
   Archie discovers, after a lovely scene in the cupboard with Hector, that Hectors secret may well have affected the rejection of the proposal: he use to date Edith before he went off to war. When he came back, Edith had waited for him all that time but he married Molly instead. Ever since then she has been hurt and hating the McDonalds, and would not let Archie get a grant for anything in the world. Archie and Molly try and make Hector apologise for his treatment of Edith, but when he goes, she doesn't accept it, throwing him out of her house.
   Katrina starts a revolt against Edith, getting the whole council to try and cote against her when Archie's proposal comes up again at the next meeting. 
   Golly comes to visit Duncan at the owl enclosure. He tells him he's sorry and gives him his fathers gun. Duncan is speechless and then offers to help Golly with some burning off. Fergal comes to find Duncan and Golly and him fight over him. Duncan gets angry and leaves, feeling hurt and used, knowing that the gifts were only trying to win him over. He leaves and doesn't speak to anyone. Even Lexie when she comes to give him his dinner. She leaves it on the front porch before giving Fergal and Golly a serving of their treatment towards Duncan. When Lexie goes to find Duncan the next morning she finds he hasn't eaten last nights dinner and he isn't in his house. She gets Fergal and Golly and the three of them go searching for him. They find him out in the paddocks and he gets angry at them explaining they all have to work together and if they don't, the estate will go belly up and it will be their fault.
   Katrina and the council manage to overthrow Edith, but she is left hurt and angry when Archie and Katrina turn up at her house, apologise and invite her to a party they are having at Glenbogle. She finally decides to go, Hector apologises and they make up. Fergal and Golly try and work together and everything seems very happy for once. But Fergal and Katrina leave the party early, saying they are going out to dinner. Archie is disappointed. But all end up dancing happily in the living room.
