White means In Active Service Green means Destroyed Teal means Decommisioned (UNSF) Firewind Class Firewind Class Active: 12 USS Firewind USS Foch USS Sound Sight USS Foch-D USS Sun Burner USS Heat Streak USS Pheonix USS Hermes-C USS Jean De Arc USS Bon Homme Richard USS Essex USS Providence USS Rhode Island USS Foch-E Ship's General Purpose: The Firewind was the much needed replacement to the aging California Class carriers that were oftenly falling prey to the newer, faster moving Imperial Demon Class Destroyers that often plagued UNSF Carrier Battle Groups from 2190 to 2194. In the summer of 2194 the first of the Firewind Class carriers was commisioned. The Firewind had vast improvements over its predecessor, a longer ranged sensor array, increased fighter storage space, increased weapons hauling capacity, longer range, and one other thing... super sized fighter bar aboard the carrier. It is partially stealthy. The Firewind Class's primary purpose is Sustained long range power projection, or sustained major firepower over long ranges. Weapons -6x Venom Defense Co. - Crossbow Octal SAM Launchers - 2 Launchers are located on the port & starboard aft corners, just beneath the flattop, launchers are in 60 degree angles to for sam to clear the flat top. 2 Launchers are located on the port & starboard side of the midship, just beneath the flattop, launchers are in 60 degree angles to for sam to clear the flat top. 2 Launchers are located on the port & starboard bow corners, just beneath the tip of the catapult launcher part of the flattop. The Crossbow SAM Launcher utilizes four missles. The LARO Long Arrow - a high speed missle for long range threat neutralization. The point defence missle, PDM-301 Bolt - an advanced medium range missle for threat neutralization. The ship defense missle SDM-340 Griffin - an advanced medium range missle specifically designed to intercept incoming anti-ship missles and other long range anti-ship ordinance. The PDM-415 Space Dart for Short Range Defense/ Point Defense. The carrier carries 500 of each missle. Also, the launcher is fairly standard equipment for all UNSF Carriers. -4x 30mm Phalanx VI Series Autocannons - 2 Autocannons are located on the port & starboard foward midship edge section of the flattop. 2 Autocannons are located on the port & starboard rear midship edge section of the flattop. Turrets can swivel and rotate in 180 degrees, when facing the carrier, the Autocannons WILL NOT fire. -2x Thomson - Witmen Aft Torpedo Launchers - Launchers are obviously located on the port & starboard stern of the carrier facing aft. The Launchers utilize Witmen Mk.672 Mako Shark Torpedoes usually tipped with anti-matter warheads. The carrier carries 300 of such torpedoes. -1x Skunk Works Aft Mine/Counter Measure Launcher - Launcher is located on the belly of the carrier in an internal bay. The launcher, facing aft, when deployed lowers out of the internal bay to deploy mines or counter measures. -500x Carrier Borne Space Fighters, Attack Space Fighters, SBEWSC's, and VTOL Shuttles. --250x Skunk Works Origin's APF-17 Lancer III, Fighter Interceptors --150x Skunk Works Origin's APF-32 Banshee, Space Dominance Fighters --50x Fuzzy Wang Rocket Co. APFB-12 Hell Birds, Attack Space Fighter Interdictor --10x Fuzzy Wang Rocket Co.
