History in Brief The history of the Wight and the Wraith goes back to the dark ages. Unexplained, and unproven, appearences of apparitions resembling that of skeletal remains that floated afew feet of the ground covered by a hooded cloaks, where said to be causes of various things or omens of bad things to come. The Wight and Wraith Much of the folk lore comes out of the highlands of Scotland in the British Isles. The appearence of something like these through mist that often covers some of the highlands must indeed be a frightful sight. The Wight and Wraith have a more familiar name associated with their appearence, the Grim Reaper, Death, Banshee, The Man Who Really Gots Your Ass, and the Abomination. In 2169, The planet Layatar II in the Gathros Star System was settled by a group of Mormon missionaries. Two months after the missionaries settled all communication with them stopped. In 2182, the UNGG finally got around to sending a UNSF Warship out to Layatar II and discovered its habitants had just vanished. Like the Highlands of Scotlands is foggy sometimes, the entire surface of Layatar II becomes moderately foggy during its spring and autumn seasons. It was through those the Wights emerged. It was soon discoverd the Wights were indeed the former inhabitants of the planet. The wights earned their name from the admiral that saw them come out of the mist. He refered to them as "bloody wights" in regards to their ghostly form. The Wights of Layatar II do indeed hover somewhat above the ground. |
The Wight The Wight is more or less a person that has been genetically changed or altered into the form of the Wight through a process called Necromorphsis after an suspecting individual angers a wight... through various ways... the most common is tugging on the cloak of the wight... The Wight strike back with its skeletal claw inflecting the wound that allows some genetic altering material into the individuals body. Another way is the Wight makes a conscious desicion to attack and in this case, the Wight flys right in the face of its victim and breaths out a gas filled with the genetic altering material. This is refered to as the "Wight's curse". The victims of an angered wight must see their wounds treated in less then 24 hours or the Wight Plague will set in and most likely transform the aflected into a Wight as well, permenantly. Wight's Curse victims are cursed for life. They will never become a wight but when mortally angered they turn into one. If the aflected stays in his Wight form for longer then 12 hours, the Wight form will become permenant and irreversible. Also the to be Wight will maintain his or her persona even after they calm down and will live out there days in Wight form. Its favorite past time... scaring demons like creatures... and killing succubi. |
The Wraith The Wraith unlike its Wight cousin comes from the planet Gara I in the Garaian Star System. The Wraith too was once an individual. The process of becoming a Wraith is somewhat different then a Wight's. The Wraith being ultra-violent, ill-natured,and belegerent entities just usually kill their victims out right with a swipe of their massive claws. After a victim is slain, the corpse goes through the process post-mortum rapid morphsis. The corpse turns into a Wraith. Another way is very similar to that of the Wight's Curse. The Wraith dips one of its claws into one fresh corpse and then flys off to another victim and simply stick a finger of blood covered claw into the victim's mouth and makes the victim swallow it... in five minutes... the victim is a conscious Wraith. The attack is known as Wraith Poisoning.. Wraiths are usually escorted by succubi that are waiting to approach frightened male victims to "reassure" them and gain passage aboard their ships. On occasion a wraith along with afew succubi companions that it does not know of may mander aboard shuttle and make its way to Layatar II. There is now moderate population of Wraiths on Layatar II as well. Very few Succubi are on Layatar II as the Wights routinely kill them. Wraith will kill the Succubi as well but only as long the Wraith knows of the Succubus's presence. The Wraith's sense of awareness and alertness are not as apt as their Wight Cousins. The Wraiths do not pay much attention to Wights, regarding the Wights as Wraiths by sheer mistake in apperance. The Wights on the other hand will attack the Wraiths if annoyed. |
