Bio:
Fire Witch are three blokes from Melbourne Oz who play tunes together.
Patto plays the bass. Jem hits drums. And Tommy twangs a bass with his fingers
and a slide and dabbles in guitar. Singers and guitarists and Harmonica players
have been known to frequent the stage with the Witch, whenever they convince
them to do so, always without rehearsal and always making a positive impact on
an already rocking tune.
These boys have been inspired by the likes of Melvins, Godspeed You! Black
Emperor, Dirty Three, Primus, Kyuss, Funkadelic and Santana to name a few.
They have made a name for themselves amongst the rock lovers of Melbourne as
those young blokes who dont really play guitars or sing much or something but
the tools are not so important as the sounds and the songs.
Fire Witch have had the pleasure of teaming up with bands such as Peeping Tom,
Milkmaid, The Union, Musle Car, Sydonia, Foreign Magicians Stiff Meat to name
seven.
They are sometimes mistaken for an art band though no one in the Witch can
explain why or what that really means. It has been remarked by punters on
numerous occasions that a Fire Witch gig is more like theatre in that it is
taken as a whole. In the end they just play instinctively, getting primal on the
stage.
Make no mistake. These boys are no cheap imitation and dont sound like nuthin
you heard before. Keep an ear to the ground. They pop up in all sorts of venues
on all sorts of bills promising to hit you in the guts and make you shake your
fist in the air every time.
