Women of Troy are a three piece rock band from Sydney Australia, the band has been together since 1999. 

Women of Troy's music as been described as "Rock with a twist and a huge load of musicality." REVOLVER 2001. As a live band they are energetic and fun to watch as you can see they are having the time of their lives on stage. 

In September 2001 Women of Troy released their debut EP "I'd like to be a Lion'" which earnt them new fans. 2001 saw many firsts for the band including airplay on Triple J and they introduced their music to the nation with a half hour tv appearance on Channel V's "The Gig." 

Early 2002 Women of Troy recorded tracks with Producer and Engineer Greg Wales (The Anyones, 78 Saab and Lazy Susan) for their upcoming release. They also took time to produce their first video clip to be seen sometime in the near future. 

Most recently Women of Troy have been working on a hot new single "Suckin' Me Down" released in November 2002 on Damien Gerard's "Grow Your Own" Vol 7. The track is set at N0. 1 on the compilation and has made on the airwaves on Triple J, Triple M, Nova 96.9, regional and community radio stations and No. 11 on the AIR Charts. On the crest of the release Women of Troy have enjoyed been
interviewed by Triple M on the "Planet Rock" and "Unsigned Find" Programs, as for for Nova 96.9 Women of Troy appeared on Nova's "Original Sydney" which lifted their profile when there was a lot of positive feedback to "Suckin' Me Down" from new fans attending their shows. 

Further more the success of the aiplay went on to see Women of Troy support  bands such as The D4, The Casanovas, The Hard Ons, The Super Jesus. 

What does the future hold for Women of Troy? 
Certainly a new release is due any time now as well as solid touring to follow.
