About Whistler Blackcomb:

Whistler Blackcomb is in a class all its own. With two huge mountains that converge at one base village. With its cosmopolitan amenities, over 8,000 skiable acres, ample snowfall and awesome alpine scenery, Whistler Blackcomb tops the list as an international favorite. This huge resort offers everything from the wide-open bowls on Blackcomb to the five-mile swoop down Whistler - one of the longest in North America. Whistler Village offers plenty of restaurants, nightclubs, bars and international ambiance to keep you entertained long after the lifts close.
Whistler Blackcomb resort offers more of everything than any other ski resort on the continent. Ski Whistler and explore an incredible 8,100 acres of skiable terrain on the two mountains, a huge 5,280 vertical drop, 12 high-speed quads, and 3 gondolas. Whistler skiing is amazing. Whistler offers never-to-be-forgotten runs on Blackcomb Glacier rivaling the best in the Alps, also the longest run on both mountains is 7 miles long.
In 2010, Canada's world-famous Whistler Blackcomb skiing area will become the Host Mountain Resort for the upcoming Vancouver Winter Olympics and Paralympics. At Whistler Blackcomb, the 2010 Olympic Games will including downhill and slalom skiing at Creekside, along with Nordic cross-country skiing, ski-jumping, all Paralympic events, and a biathlon competition at the Olympic Park's Callaghan Valley. The Whistler Sliding Centre will play host to bobsleigh and luge sledding events, while the medal presentation and the closing ceremony are to be held within the Whistler Celebration Site.
Cross-country skiing is one of Whistler's best kept (and most affordable) secrets. No chairlift lineups here; just you, perfectly groomed trails and Whistler's enchanting winter wonderland to explore. With three cross-country skiing venues, including the official venue for Nordic events for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Whistler offers more than 130 km of trails.
