Judy Winchester is introduced in manga book 8, Track 34 and is seen very briefly in the form of a key-chain in K's car during the TV series (shown in Track 11). She is married to K and is the mother of Michael Winchester. Originally a young American sales girl aspiring to make a name for herself, Judy is now a very popular international film star (her career blooming after she met the man who would eventually become her husband, former mercenary turned manager Claude Winchester). Judy is initially introduced in the manga after she arrives at the premiere of her new film ("Duet"), only to walk in on K and Shuichi making a scene in the cinema. Shuichi is stunned to discover that K is married (and also that he has a real name, Claude) though he has little time to absorb these newly uncovered facts as Judy kidnaps him at gun-point from right under her husband’s nose!

It is then the reader realizes that K’s wife shares quite a few character traits with the man himself, including (but not limited to) being incredibly trigger-happy. It must be noted that Judy’s kidnapping of Shuichi is not a random incident; it is in fact the event that carries the story into one of its final arcs (The “American” Arc). After Judy steals Shuichi away she (with the assistance of her bodyguard, Ark), sets Shuichi up for an American debut under the management of her 18 year old friend, Rage. To explain the story from here would be telling…

Judy smokes, wears sunglasses and has a habit of grabbing the men in her life by their ties when she's displeased. In many ways, her personality can be described as being that of a “typical starlet” – a woman used to always getting her own way, being spoiled and being the centre of attention. Though sometimes we do get a glimpse at her more serious, less histrionic side and this is more often than not when she’s talking business (the professional side of the media seems to be one of her main interests). Judy’s personal life is rarely discussed though she does seem to genuinely care about her husband (she proudly displays her wedding ring and calls herself ‘Claude’s Wife’, refers to her husband as ‘Darling’ and seems to enjoy throwing the Winchester name about in conversation) and her young son holds her very close to his heart. Ark Narsevich, who is mostly shown, fighting with his employer’s husband, protects Judy. Ark is the best kind of bodyguard - loyal, dedicated and very kind. While Ark shows amazing respect and care for Judy, she treats him quite badly back, but he doesn't seem to mind all that much. On the flipside, Ark & K (who were very close some time ago) don't seem to be able to communicate that well anymore.

Judy is probably the only character in "Gravitation" that is able to control K and while she regards him as a bit of a fool at times it can be assumed that they are good companions when they aren't both blowing things up or kidnapping singers, that is (which is more often than most couples, I think).

Judy isn’t exactly the most loved “Gravitation” character but she has an important role to play in both the story, as well as in K’s life. She has a dominating personality and a presence that simply can't be ignored.
