Michael Winchester, son of Claude & Judy, makes only one appearance in the “Gravitation” saga (In the manga ‘omake’ at the end of book #10 entitled "Gravitation: Ban Gai Hen"), making him only a very minor character in the scheme of things, though an important one in a way also.
Shindou Maiko (Shuichi’s younger sister) bumps into the little lost foreign boy on her way home from school one day and is immediately taken in by his adorable looks (prompting Maiko to squeal in her best English “Haro! Haro!”). The boy (Michael) is distressed at the prospect of returning home to his father (whom he believes doesn’t spend enough time with him) but Maiko eventually convinces him that his father does care about him (which leads to a bit of an Ultraman parody in Michael’s mind) then K appears to take his son home.
This short extra act is incredibly funny and quite random, however it does have some importance to the make-up of K & Michael as characters. This is the only time we see K displaying any sort of sensitive, parental instinct towards his child and this is indeed something worth seeing. It is important also, because we get to meet Michael and learn a little about the boy who has the misfortune of growing up with two insane gun-toting Americans as parents. In spite of this, according to Michael’s profile in the 2nd “Gravitation” Fanbook, his future will be very bright and his life will have great significance.
A random fact we know about Michael is that he can speak Japanese very well. It's just a shame his parents can't.
