Whereas Lambda Chi Alpha continually strives to do its best and remain competetive academically, in sports and through recruitment, one of our guiltiest pleasures is our performance at the Annual IFC Songfest. Since its inception over 50 years ago, Songfest has served as a podium for the most astute Fraternity songs and wind pipes present on the University of Alberta campus.
The gentlemen of our Fraternity, however, have seemingly never been blessed by the good Lord with a pleasing sound, as Epsilon-Rho Zeta has placed last since Songfest's inception. What might have started as a genuine attempt to win the event eventually evolved into the finely-tuned, brilliantly-orchestrated comedic relief of Lambda Chi.
Breaking nearly all the rules and limitations placed upon the competitors, we had the audience laughing 'til it hurt and rolling in the aisles, as Brother Mehrdad Hosseiny led the Chapter in several songs, most notably one of his own composition. Last place was the order of the day and we couldn't be more pleased with the results.
