"A single word... youth"
@Uootem
My heart is enkindled once again
By the power of emotions remaining since our love was new
Yet, I am sitting here in the quietness of the day
Without the love we once shared My mind can't help but ponder
What are the reasons
we didn't last forever? I know it was the right thing for both of us For we were so young,
with so much yet to experience But deep in my heart, I still love you And this poet knows how much I yearn. Our love... once reciprocal... sweet and intense In my heart, it will always be there It was delightful, true and innocent Very clearly, the enduring kind... I thought. Our love grew with friendship, You were most unlike others I had known While there was a physical attraction It was founded on just pure thoughtfulness and affection. And in my heart... these days, the longing never ceases Our love, though strong, is now only memory
It was changed to a love not meant to be No, not by conflict or hate But by a single word... youth.
