With more than pen and paper

I do not pretend,
the feelings you had for me
are not over and forgotten for you.
I understand that,
for I would not expect them to last this long.
It would seem quite unlikely that
you would even remember
after so much time and so much life has passed.

I am not asking for a fairytale miracle.
I know that no happily-ever-after romantic reunion
will come and rescue my fragile heart from its darkness.

What I do plead is a quite moment
A chance to share these written words
so that you will always know you are loved.
and a chance to share with you the emotions spent
in committing this ink to page.
A chance to do what I do best
To give myself, heart and soul... through my poet inside.
A chance to feel lost love's love for a moment
with more than pen and paper.
