Forever and Happiness

You embraced me with your love
in a world that seemed so absolute.
a place so warm and full of life.
where talk of forever and happiness was heard.

My every breath paused provisionally
In humbled eagerness to taste your lips
so affectionate, so gentle... your kiss
Passion burned within the eagerness...
              two bodies created for this purpose shared.
              our hearts in unison... keeping time standing still.

Then........

Suddenly a numbness... a lack of love's compassion
Heart bleeding from the wounds of unspoken good-bye...
for saying good-bye could mean forever...
As each love ripened kiss became a soured yearning
As we moved into our dissimilar realities.
My heart filled with remorse at the loss
My every breath paused provisionally
to become another sigh...
              The love that was so potent... weakened by nothingness,
              now forever and happiness will be missed....
