I wonder if you ever find yourself lying awake
And listening to the plangency of love at night?
I wonder if you dream so intently that it hurts
And you enthusiastically welcome the break of daylight?

I wonder if you sometimes lie alone in silence
And think you hear my voice whispering your name?
I wonder if you ever wish you would have stayed
In a time where our love could have remained the same?

I wonder if you ever find yourself
Desperately looking all around for me,
Even in distant places, among strangers faces
Where you know for certain I could not possibly be?

I wonder if you ever catch the melody of
The familiar sound of a good old love song,
And suddenly you are reminded
Of all the once shared emotions strong? 

I wonder do you ever try in the darkness
To reach out your loving arms for me,
Only to suddenly realize: you let me go
Because we were both too young to let love be?

I wonder do you ever ask these things about me?
Do the questions boggle your mind and they do mine?
I wonder do you ever wish things were different
Like the wishing I do all of the time?
