Sunsets and bubblegum.
playful flirts and passionate kisses.
A lightning bug glistened in the distance
if we had followed his glow would we have found tomorrow sooner?

Your hand brushed mine and your beauty filled my eyes
I held you in arms that have ached ever since
for they are always seem empty now.
The dew on the grass was cold on my bare feet
but I did not feel anything but your warmth
as we walked through the landscape of yesterday?

The sun finally faded in that deep summer sky
We looked at each other and blew a bubble
making wishes... laughing at our future of happiness
I smile and think, what innocence love leaves in the heart
but bubble gum loses it flavor... and futures change before they come
