I wait for flowers

@Uootem

winds of change quicken their pace
the storm clouds roll in to cover the sky
like the darkness of your absence,
as rain splashes against my world -
and thunder crashes in my soul -
a flash of lightening reminds me of your eyes.

as sudden and unexpected as any springtime storm
the torrent of rain has washed you from me.
and there is no opportunity left to say "I love you" -
except on this waterlogged page.

my tears cascade down the window of my soul...
droplet by teardrop, filling my sight.
where is the sun that once warmed me -
the light that I followed to this place?
where is your love that I came to know
and where are all the promises we once made?

on the horizon appears a welcomed rainbow...
its pot of gold always just out of reach
but storms do pass, don't they?
and everything somehow seems refreshed
and the mud puddles are often fun to play in
like love when we were young.

now, I wait for the flowers -
promised to follow the rain, I think
what else could tears and rain be for?
it can't be just my pain... falling from the heavens!
