"Stargazing"

I stargazed with her memory again last night;
My sweet and beautiful princess.
Such dreaming is often my plight
on star covered cloudless nights.
Will I see her again... outside of dreams?
How will I know that she still cares... if she does?
Will my heart ache again to feel her love?
Will she gaze at me with that look in her eyes?
The moon is prodigious... the stars are enlightening.
Such a perfect setting for such perfection as a view of her.
Is this the night when I shall find her again?
Will she realize that she knew me before?
Could our souls be reunited and love find us again?
We laughed and cried and then remembered our farewells.
We knew our fairytale had to have its "ever after";
I pray that my sadness will not win again...
for teardrop rain fell down on me that day...
such cold droplets... wind too...
when she felt she needed to go away.
One day in a happily-ever-after place,
I will be captured by those eyes... that beautiful face.
A day will come when we both remember;
Just as sure as rises the sun
just as sure as the moon guides the ocean tide.
The stars will again be my friends and
she will again be my love of life.
