"A SECRET"

I have kept a secret deep within
never revealed to anyone... lover or friend
a enigma that causes this poet to write
of a moment from a far away night.
It's a mystery that stays with me... something I dared not say
and makes me wish you had not gone away
it wakes me up in morning, puts me to sleep at night
it makes my heart feel so very right.
It's truth I plan on revealing in a confession soon
perhaps at dawn, or at dusk, or possibly at noon
but every time I try to articulate it the words won't come
is this a sign that a coward I have become?
It's been on my mind for a long time
it's time to tell my secret... perhaps in this rhyme
So on the last of these lines here written, it comes into view
my lost lover, I still love you!!!
