You... always the focus of my dreams,
A vision.... in my mind since time began.
and to survey the world over in entirety,
I would never discover another like you.

It was you... who taught me how to love for real
to dream, to laugh, and to smile,
to look toward the future with unbounded promise,
And to really find my true self.

When you told me you loved me,
everything... seemed so fresh and new.
I knew instantly we were inseparable spirits,
soulmates... with our lives entwined.

I learned to love you with all my heart,
So when someone asks if dreams come true.
I just smile and say with confidence,
Definitely they do.... cause I once found you.

You... still the focus of my dreaming,

for you I search through all the shadows,
scan with anticipation faces on every crowded street.

how to really yearn for that which was lost,
to look toward the future with useless optimism
to seek to find my true self.

These days we are not together,
and I am not asking for your love now (I know that is gone),
But when I am about to give up hope, put memories away,
I see you again and all longing is renewed.
