"Lessons"
@Uootem
The lessons being in love provides us are a very unusual education. One not easily learned nor simply forgotten.
Your heart learns songs about the joy of rain; and the fragrances of spring flowers it brings; about walking through puddles of happiness; about the laughter of birds and bees.
Your heart learns to sing about the storms of pain; When thunder crashes through the silence; And how cold the droplets can seem; when they mix with love lorn tears.
No wonder there are so many love songs!
We learn to soar among the heavens, never fearing a fall; Like doves and eagles and airplanes, we can travel the globe; about how to walk on cloud nine and above; about how lighter than air, this being in love makes you feel.
We learn to crawl through the desperation of it all; about how low a heart can sink when it breaks; about how heavy a burden, this love lost can be; And how love can last forever, even when not returned.
No wonder lovers peer into the stars!
We learn how to feel emotions so deep; To dream of the future, its promises, all its comforts; about how to see your soul through her eyes; about how love can shape and mold your life.
We learn how to deal with emotions we shouldn't keep; To yearn for yesterday, but not give up hope; about heartache and loneliness and carrying on; about how sharp is the point on cupid's arrow.
No wonder hearts are so reddened!
No matter what it brings our life's way; Love always helps us learn as we grow up; about trusting your heart to someone else; about warmth and giving and holding nothing back.
When fate gives us a love gone away; We learn about overcoming each obstacle with pride; about suppressing the wanting and hurting and emptiness about keeping those emotions penned up inside.
So when I am feeling love's taken me down, And feeling that love is not so impartial; I think of all the times passed; And how far I've come since then.
Love is a very strange education found; It brought me you and took you away again. But through this teaching I have learned so well; That this love I have for you, keeps me to my search.
