"My heart still seeks"

reoccurring reminiscent thoughts,
longed for fulfillment of love once known
and the veracity of love lost too soon,
my heart keeping cadence of time's passing,
contradicting the "knowing" of my mind,
and contradicting the legitimacy of "us"... it seems.
premising an eternal succession of
the perpetual carnality of passion
and memory's taunting....
apologue of ponderings,
colliding with hearts' covetous rhythms.
meeting love's loss,
still believing... in an unending dreaming
that I might again find you,
and discover somehow
that you still love me likewise,
seeking the peaceful stillness...
the tranquility in poetry written
through a mist-ladden vision of tears
sacrificed at the absence of love
from more youthful years spent.
my heart still wide open
my weeping pen still speaks
of the love that my heart still seeks.
