                    haunted by shadows
                                  from past sunlit moments
                            regret of the losing
                                        heavy upon his heart
                                                    memory apparitions
                                                                    masquerading as hope
                                          drifting... then abruptly
                  reason and sanity fails
                                      the acquittal of reality
                                                          fragile soul... no freedom left
                                    prisoner of yearning
              in a restless cell called his life
                      tormenting images
                                        of dreams once formed
                                              taunting vision of silhouettes
                                so vulnerable to remembering.
                                                                  forever condemned
                                        to grapple with emptiness
                              she is his weakness
                                              as he reaches to grasp
                                want cannot be held
                      he knows powerlessness
      to alter destiny...
                      giving in to fate.
        unfulfilled aspirations from youth
                    the traitor within
                              and the admission of truth
                                                            makes him afraid
                                        falling deeper into despair...
          for he will miss her severely
unless he can remember no more...
