an extraordinary feeling

When we first met, what an extraordinary feeling...
    the kind reserved for "the One and Only" only:
          a mix of sudden rush adrenaline and insatiable lust,
              all at the same time...
it felt so good in your presence,
    comfortable in your charms,
          to be the only boy for you
              at least at that moment.
you set fire to my heart with intense emotions
    the kind that lasting love is made from
          too empowering to share
              with anyone else...
you stared into my eyes
    with such persuasive magnetism
          that reveal only in eyes looking at a soul mate...
              me... your soul mate?
once i thought we both knew it.
    your touch, would make me melt in the warmth of your presence,
          a feeling I never had before and will never have again...
              a once in a lifetime love thing.
we loved and talked and laughed and played
    and loved some more... but we were too young
          to move any closer than we were
              and we had to drift apart eventually
like it was the only choice for boy and girl...
      by putting space between us,
          in reality we were just growing up
              had to do something so important
but I still love you and I want you forever
      but it isn't working out
          the way I was imagined
              while having those extraordinary feelings.
