I sit here in silence… dark;
once again speculating an outcome…
Holding onto hope so tightly,
of boy and girl that still riddle my consciousness.
so significantly contrary to the result of my memories…. reality,
I wonder if you're happy now.

my thoughts frequent the shadows of
moments that have consumed my heart….
and make it long for more….
moments where youth found life and love….
and thought it was immortal….
moments of exploration….
where comfort felt familiarly new….
moments of sharing together….
that meant caring for another….
now alone…. For she does not remember as I;

escape these memories….
I hear the voice of reason.
those that follow me everywhere….
release what left long ago.
my heart, my mind… neither lets go
of what now seems so distant…. yet still close.

So here in silence…. speculating an outcome
keeping memories of moments.
