Our World Changed Dramatically Today

Our world changed dramatically today
    the landscape altered
          the sky filled with flames
              our spirit questioned
by reasoning we can't even begin to understand.

In silhoutette this world now exists
    as we watch
          with horror
              the images of rage
A nightmare, in light of day, at a madman's hand.

How high we must watch everything fall
    within us
          without us
              outside our will
as destruction occurs to once civilized land.

They came in an instant unexpected
    stealing our freedom
          our sanity
              and peace
all for nothing but the losing of souls of man.

In the ashes they covered us
    dazed by all we saw
          shadowed by all we thought we knew
              and the sorrow we still feel
as the hourglass of time lost a little more sand.

Are we are not anyone now anyhow
    not human
          not spirit
                only a target sought
as the darkness becomes a little more surreal and bland.

But there must be another dimension for this
    for we are all but One
          and this day too shall pass
              as again we will survive
for against our hearts this evil cannot stand.
